Donald Trump has detailed his honest assessment after his wife, Melania, threatened Hunter Biden with a $1 billion lawsuit over claims he made about her links to Jeffrey Epstein.
Former president Joe Biden's son Hunter claimed in a recent interview that the First Lady was introduced to Trump by Epstein, who was a convicted paedophile.
Epstein was found dead in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan, New York City in August 2019.
The financier had been arrested earlier in the year and died aged 66 while awaiting trial for charges related to sex trafficking - charges to which he pleaded not guilty.

Speaking to filmmaker Andrew Callaghan recently, Biden claimed: "Epstein introduced Melania to Trump - the connections are so wide and deep," adding elsewhere in the interview that the alleged Epstein files would 'implicate' President Trump.

Melania's legal team issued Biden a letter following the publication of the interview, the BBC reports, with Trump's spouse insisting Biden retracts the 'false, disparaging, defamatory and inflammatory' statement and apologize, or face a lawsuit of at least $1 billion.
The letter, written by lawyer Alejandro Brito, accused Biden of causing Melania 'to suffer overwhelming financial and reputational harm'.

He added: "It is obvious that you published these false and defamatory statements about Mrs. Trump to draw attention to yourself."
Trump was asked about the ongoing dispute during The Brian Kilmeade Show, to which the president said it was he who told Melania to 'go forward with it'.
"I told her, ‘Let’s go ahead and do it'," Trump said. "I let her use my lawyers."
Amid the threat of a lawsuit and potentially going to court, Biden issued a brutal response while sitting down for a recent discussion with Channel 5.

When Channel 5's Andrew Callaghan asked Hunter in a follow-up interview if he was going to apologise to Melania, he said: "F**k that, that’s not going to happen."

He continued: "Fact of the matter is that, you know, I don’t think that these threats of a lawsuit add up to anything other than a design distraction, because it’s not about who introduced whom to whom. I don’t know how that in any way rises to the level of defamation to begin with.
"I also think they're bullies and they think a billion dollars is going to scare me."
There is no verified evidence to suggest that Epstein was involved when Melania was introduced to Trump.
