Serial killer Ted Bundy wrote a number of 'patronizing' letters while being held on death row, his cousin has revealed.
Bundy confessed to the murders of more than 30 women, crimes he carried out through the 1970s before his eventual capture by police.
While he was being held on death row, Bundy would exchange letters with his cousin Edna Martin, who has now revealed some of the communications that she received from him.
The communication started as a one off letter, but would go on for years as the killer was held on death row.

Bundy would eventually be executed on January 24 1989 at Raiford Prison in Florida.
He would always finish his letters to his cousin with the perhaps unexpected sign off of 'love, Ted.'

Edna, now 74, opened up about the contents of the letters in an interview with PEOPLE magazine.

“He was pretty patronizing,” she told the outlet. “He said, ‘you don't know me anymore and you need to get to know yourself first before you can know me.' He implied that I didn't know all the facts.
"One of the quotes that he wrote to me was, 'I have no guilt, remorse, or regrets over anything I've done.'"
Edna also described how she felt that there were two separate parts to Bundy.
She said: “Ted was two people. He was one person to his family and friends, and obviously he was something altogether terrifyingly different to his victims.

"I don't think he felt like he ever wanted to take that mask off with me."

Edna recalled how her infamous cousin's letters claimed that Ann Rule’s book The Stranger Beside Me was 'full of falsehoods and half-truths', and he would refer to his time as 'BC' and 'AD', explaining this was 'before court, cops', and 'after damnation'.
Edna also recalled that Bundy did not disclose details about his killings in their letters.

She recalled asking him a question, saying: “I said, 'why would you develop such a deep rage and hatred that you would feel so overwhelmed that you would have to kill ruthlessly?'”
In an extraordinary response, Edna revealed that Bundy had even denied his crimes to her.
She said: “His response was ‘I won't disregard your accusations completely ... I will say this much, I have not killed anyone.’ And then he goes, and he quotes a Bible verse to me."
A new documentary examining the letters called Love, Ted Bundy is scheduled to premiere on Oxygen on February 15.
