A close-up shot of a note from Secretary of State Marco Rubio to President Donald Trump has shed fresh light on the behind-the-scenes reality of the administration's social media game.

The moment unfolded yesterday (October 8), during a meeting Trump held with conservative influencers and members of the press about antifa.

While the 79-year-old was addressing the crowd, Rubio quietly flagged him down with something he clearly needed to see.

According to reports from Associated Press, Rubio handed Trump a handwritten note - and thanks to a zoomed-in image snapped by photographers, we now know exactly what it said.

The message read: "You need to approve a Truth Social post soon so you can announce deal first."

That little slip of paper was referring to the peace deal Trump has been helping to broker between Israel and Palestinian militant group Hamas, with a tentative agreement having been reached at the time between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government and Hamas.

Trump quickly addressed the room after reading the note, saying: "I was just given a note by the secretary of state saying that we’re very close to a deal on the Middle East, and they’re gonna need me pretty quickly.

"So we’ll take a couple of more questions."

The event wrapped up about ten minutes later, with Trump adding: "Although I’m very well represented by our secretary of state. He could probably do an even better job than me, but who knows.

"We don’t want to take any chances. So we’re going to go and do that."

Roughly two hours after the meeting ended, Trump’s Truth Social account finally posted the big announcement at 6.51pm local time - which now proves that his posts need approval beforehand.

"I am very proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have both signed off on the first Phase of our Peace Plan," it read.

"This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace.

"All Parties will be treated fairly! This is a GREAT Day for the Arab and Muslim World, Israel, all surrounding Nations, and the United States of America, and we thank the mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, who worked with us to make this Historic and Unprecedented Event happen.

"BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS!"

Before signing it off: "DONALD J. TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA."
