Mark Sanchez was arrested while still in hospital after an altercation with another person resulted in him being stabbed.
Former NFL player turned sports analyst Mark Sanchez was involved in a ‘physical disturbance’ in Indianapolis near Senate Avenue and West Washington Street at 12.30am on Saturday October 4, according to the authorities.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department released a statement saying it was investigating an incident involving two men.
They did note that the altercation that occurred ‘resulted in one man receiving lacerations and the other sustaining injuries consistent with stab wounds'.
The statement continued: “Both individuals who are not local residents, have been identified. IMPD Aggravated Assault detectives are continuing the investigations and have reviewed video footage of the incident.
“Both men received medical treatment. The man with the apparent stab wounds remains hospitalized in a stable condition.

It is the practice of the IMPD Public Affairs office to not identify victims or suspects in incidents, unless the suspect is arrested, charged or being sought.”
However, in a strange turn of events, the police released a second statement on the incident the same day.
They confirmed that Sanchez - who has played 10 NFL seasons with the New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys - had been arrested for ‘battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and public intoxication’.
The statement did not go into greater detail of what occurred, however. They did reaffirm that it was an ‘isolated’ incident and they're not looking for any more suspects.
Fox Sports, who Sanchez works for issued a statement and commented about his health, following the incident that saw him stabbed.
