Mark Ruffalo did not hold back in his criticism of Donald Trump when approached for his thoughts at the Golden Globes.
The Avengers star is known for making his opinions clear on current affairs, and using his platform to draw attention to important topics.
Ruffalo recently took aim at the Trump administration during the Golden Globes, making his thoughts on the way that Donald Trump's government is working crystal clear.
The Golden Globes are far from the first time that Ruffalo has criticized Trump, as he has hit out at Trump over his handling of several important issues.

His opinions have been met with a furious response from Trump and his administration, who has historically responded personally to criticism of his policies and views by celebrities.
Addressing Ruffalo's remarks, White House Communications Director Steven Cheung wrote on X: "Poor thing Mark Ruffalo, star of She-Hulk, is one of the worst actors in the business.
"More impressively, he's an even worse human being by spewing outright lies because deep down inside, he hates himself for knowingly subjecting the public to his god awful performance."
But what has Ruffalo said about Trump historically? Let's take a look.
'Public enemy number one'

Let's begin in 2020, when Ruffalo said: "The world should consider my president public enemy number one."
Ruffalo had been drawing attention to climate change, saying: "What we do in the next 10 years will be crucial to the future of the planet.
"And this is only going to become more and more evident to us."
He added: "We can't rely on the politicians. We can't rely on the regulatory system. We can't rely on the companies. They're not going to self-regulate."
Denouncing billionaires

Ruffalo has made his views on the ultra-wealthy known in the past as well.
In an interview with the New York Immigration Coalition in 2025, he said: "It's time to take our country back from this extreme wealth that has its hand all over the power of the nation."
He added that he wanted the US to 'become a beautiful burgeoning democracy that works for the people and not just for the very wealthy'.
Speaking at a 'No Kings' protest last year, Ruffalo said: "We have a king, and his court, and his beige henchmen, and they’re trampling on our rights and our laws and our freedoms, making themselves richer with taxpayer dollars and making us less safe with their love of other kings and dictators, and the likes of Putin, and Netanyahu and Kim Jong Un of the world."
'Enemy of America'

Ruffalo took to social media in 2023 to call Donald Trump an 'enemy of America'.
The actor responded to New York Times contributing editor Alex Kingsbury's comments about Trump calling for his supporters to 'go after' the New York attorney general.
Ruffalo wrote: “F-ing finally. Media starts to wake up…"
He added: “Presidential contender is calling for Americans to kill and harm Americans,” the actor continued. “Let that sink in. Enemy of America from within.”
'Fraud' and 'scam artist'

Ruffalo drew attention to a 2023 ruling which found that Trump had committed fraud while he was running the Trump Organization.
Writing on X at the time, Ruffalo said: “Another reminder that this man, in totality, is a fraud.
“He is a scam artist. He steals from the public, his workers who have not been paid, the students of his ‘university,’ his lawyers, his associates and business partners, and now his followers in donations that he pockets.”
'Living under the Taliban'

Ruffalo made the comments shortly after the suspension of Jimmy Kimmel over an episode which aired after the death of far-right activist Charlie Kirk, in which the host accused Trump of taking advantage of Kirk's death.
In explosive comments, Ruffalo suggested that the US was headed to a scenario where it would be like 'living under the Taliban' due to its hardline policies on social issues.
Ruffalo said: "This cancellation is the U.S. government coming and taking your voice away from you.
"It is the U.S. government that is now suppressing the freedom of speech. It is the U.S. government, not your neighbors, not someone on social media. It is the government doing it now."

He added: "And that's where we all have to come together, because authoritarian regimes, fascist regimes have to degrade our freedoms more and more overtime until we're living the smallest, the most frightened, the most secretive lives.
"Think of yourselves living under the Taliban because that's where we're headed."
