Keith Lee slams people sending death threats to restaurant after viral video

After Keith Lee's review went viral, people flooded to Instagram to make nasty comments about the Atlanta restaurant.

TikToker Keith Lee has spoken out in defence of an Atlanta restaurant after it received death threats.

The MMA star turned food critic went to a restaurant in Atlanta to review it, however, he was left unable to do so when his family were denied service.

Lee took to his TikTok account to speak out about his experience at The Real Milk and Honey and his video quickly went viral.

However, there's since been a lot of confusion after followers went flocking to Instagram to condemn the restaurant and Lee has taken to TikTok once again to clear it up. Prepare yourself for a debacle:

Lee uploaded a video last week giving a review of a restaurant called The Real Milk and Honey.

While noting he didn't want to bash the restaurant, in the video, the TikToker explained he and his family tried to order food over the phone, but were told the restaurant doesn't take call-in orders.

They then tried to go to sit in, but were told the establishment was closed for 'deep cleaning' despite the doors being open.

The video of Lee's 'real and authentic experience' went viral - Cardi B even taking to social media to reflect on how hard it is to order food in Atlanta - and people flooded to what they believed to be the restaurant's Instagram account to condemn it.

People flooded to a restaurant called Milk and Honey's Instagram page, believing it to be the location mentioned and reviewed by Lee, one saying: "I wanted to go, but after I seen Keith Lee video, I don’t know."

"Fumbled the bag heavily. A good Keith Lee review could have changed your life," another added.

However, it wasn't the right restaurant.

Lee has since spoken out in defence of Milk and Honey Atlanta, clarifying it's not the restaurant he tried to visit, telling followers to stop their trolling.

In a post uploaded yesterday (October 31), he says: "I already was very clear and transparent as to not leave hate anywhere. But specifically don't leave hate to the Milk and Honey, they didn't do anything."

He noted he'd been told by the owner of Milk and Honey the staff and managers had even been 'receiving death threats' as a result of Lee's viral video.

"I'm absolutely 100 percent not with that," Lee says. "That's so corny and so lame, regardless of my opinion of any restaurant.

"We don't do that over here at all. If you do that you are not somebody that watch me or support me and my family at all. And I mean under any circumstances that's not OK."

Lee has since cleared up the confusion.

The restaurant re-shared Lee's TikTok video, writing: "We at Milk and Honey Brunch Restaurants wish to clarify that we are a different entity and are not affiliated with the restaurant known as 'The Real Milk and Honey'.

"We understand there may be confusion due to the similarities in our names; however, it is important to note that we are the original Milk and Honey Brunch Restaurants established in 2017 and have worked diligently to craft four locations in the Atlanta, Georgia region."

Milk and Honey Atlanta - NOT the same restaurant reviewed by Lee - has spoken out about the whole saga on Instagram.

The statement continues: "We take great pride in offering our patrons a diverse culinary experience in a welcoming environment, and our focus remains on exceptional service and quality food.

"We sincerely thank our patrons who have shown so much love and support for our brand, advocating for our unique identity and differences, especially since the news regarding the unfortunate incident at 'The Real Milk and Honey' Restaurant'.

"Your loyalty and enthusiasm is greatly appreciated, and we look forward to serving you at any of our five locations throughout the Atlanta, Georgia region. Thank you for being a valued part of the Milk and Honey Brunch Restaurants community."
