Film of JFK's assassination that's been hidden for decades could confirm huge 62-year conspiracy theory

New film footage could reveal a crucial detail regarding the assassination of the US president

A long-held video could blow the lid open on the assassination of the late US president John F. Kennedy, and prove a conspiracy theory about the fatal shooting.

On November 22, 1963, America was hit with devastating news that the 35th POTUS, John F. Kennedy, was gunned down while waving to crowds from his car in the streets of Dallas, Texas.

Just like any major event, people wanted to get to the truth of what happened and discover who was responsible for the act.

The Warren Commission report later concluded Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone gunman who killed Kennedy. Oswald was shot and killed just two days later while he was being moved from the Dallas police station.

However, many have questioned whether Oswald truly did act alone due to the manner in which the president sustained his fatal injuries.

The late president’s autopsy raised the question as to how one bullet could cause so much damage, and helped suggest there was multiple shots from multiple gunmen.

Now, footage that has never seen the light of day may be able to shed light on these questions.

Dallas air conditioner repairman Orville Nix captured grainy 8mm footage from the scene, and it hasn’t been seen since 1978.

The footage was off the grassy knoll; an area which some witnesses claimed to believe the shots originated.

Conspiracy theorists have also believed a second gunman was hiding behind a fence on the knoll.

The footage from Nix was sent away for analysis by an LA company and later fell under federal ownership. However, they have claimed they don’t have it.

Since Nix died in 1972, his granddaughter has picked up from her late father’s legal war to recover the film and claimed it could be worth as much as $900 million.

Scott Watnik of Wilk Auslander LLP, a lawyer for Nix’s granddaughter, Linda Gayle Nix Jackson, said that new technologies could reveal evidence that proves that Oswald didn’t act alone.

Speaking to the New York Post, he said: “It’s really the only one that is known to have captured the grassy knoll area of Dealey Plaza right as the assassination occurs.”

He added that this film could bolster a 1978 House Select Committee on Assassinations report that found Kennedy 'was probably assassinated as a result of a conspiracy'.

Watnik added: "If we subjected the camera-original film to optics technology of 2026, we can certainly capture details in the film that we never could have captured when... the committee had the film in 1978."

A federal judge has now ruled that a battle over the film can go forward, the Post reports, meaning the footage may soon see the light of day.
