Boxer Jarrell Miller reveals eye-watering amount he spent on hairpiece before it was punched off during fight

The boxer's hairpiece was dislodged in a fight against Kingsley Ibeh at Madison Square Garden

Jarrell Miller has revealed how much he paid to have a hairpiece installed, before it was knocked off during a boxing match.

In a post-fight interview, the boxer revealed that he had experienced some hair loss prior to the match, and had visited a barber to try and mitigate the effects ahead of the fight. He explained that while visiting his mom, he had used some shampoo that she had left out on the table, not realizing that it was not suitable for him to use on his head.

"I get to my mama's house and I saw some shampoo bottles on the table," Miller said in the ring after the fight. "I shampooed and it was like ammonium bleach. I literally lost my hair like two days ago."

Undeterred by the shower mishap, he explained that he had called up his manager to arrange for a hairpiece.

Seeing the funny side, Miller said: "I called my manager and said, 'Get me one of those manes,' and I slapped that on real quick. It's funny, man. I'm a comedian and you've got to make fun of yourself."

Miller revealed on The Breakfast Club show that he had forked out a lot of money, spending '$700 last minute' for the hairpiece, with his host joking 'you gotta get $650 back' after it didn't stay on in the fight.

During his appearance on the show, Miller's hairpiece was also notably absent. Spectators at the fight between Miller and Kingsley Ibeh were greeted by the unusual sight of his hair coming off.

Ibeh landed a series of punched on Miller, sending his head flying back and dislodging the hairpiece in a surreal moment late in the second round.

Playing into the moment, Miller then theatrically tossed it into the audience, jokingly celebrating as though he had won the round, before returning to the fight.

DAZN commentator Chris Mannix observed: "I've seen a lot in boxing but I've never seen that."

Following the hilarious moment, fellow boxer Boxer Fabio Wardley posted a picture of the hairpiece carefully placed on a seat next to him, writing: "don't worry I'll keep it safe".

Australian pro boxer Skye Nicolson also got in on the, with a picture of her sporting the wig also shared on social media.

In the end, Miller claimed victory over Ibeh in the fight at Madison Square Garden on Saturday with a split decision win, prompting the irresistible commentary: "Miller wins it by a hair."
