The White House has claimed that mass deportations are 'improving Americans’ quality of life' in an article on its website.
It comes as the cost of living in the US continues to be a challenge for Americans after Donald Trump introduced punishing tariffs on goods being imported into the US.
In the bizarre article posted to the White House website, it claims that carrying out mass deportations is 'freeing up resources, revitalizing opportunity, and restoring safety — delivering tangible results that put American citizens first'.
This claim comes just eight days after ICE agents shot US citizen and mom-of-three Renee Nicole Good dead in Minneapolis, and two weeks after US citizen Keith Porter Jr was shot dead by an off-duty ICE agent on New Year's Eve.

Trump saw his polling numbers drop in the build-up to the midterms, including on topics his administration is prioritizing such as immigration, though they have been steady since the ICE killings in the new year.

In the article, the White House makes connections between mass deportations and housing costs, employment, jobs, and crime, connecting all of these issues to Trump's policy.
The administration has come under intense scrutiny over its immigration policies, which have seen people detained by ICE agents at home, at work, and dragged from their cars.

One of the claims made in the article from the White House is making a connection between property prices and places with 'largest illegal migrant populations'.
It used the language of 'illegal' despite under US law, remaining in the US after a visa has expired, or entering it irregularly is considered a civil and not a criminal matter.
The White House explicitly hit out at 'sanctuary cities' - these are cities where the local administration has said it will not assist or co-operate with ICE in their operations.
In the article, it claimed three cities, Seattle, Chicago, and Philadelphia, all saw increases in their housing, implying that this was due to their being 'sanctuary cities'.

It comes as podcast host Joe Rogan compared ICE to the Gestapo, the secret police who operated on behalf of Nazi Germany.
He said: "You don't want militarized people in the streets, just roaming around snatching people up many of which turn out to actually be US citizens, they just don't have their papers on them.
"Are we really gonna be the Gestapo, 'where's your papers?' Is that what we've come to?"

Rogan has endorsed Trump in the past, but was critical after the shooting of Renee Nicole Good, saying: "...It just looked horrific to me. When people say it's justifiable because the car hit him, it seemed like she was turning the car away."
