Donald Trump is set for a health check later this week amid concerns over the president's health.

Trump health has made headlines in recent weeks after he was spotted with a 'large bruise' on his hand, which his team recently seemed to attempt to cover up with what appeared to be copious amounts of foundation.

The Republican president was also diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), a condition that occurs when your leg veins become damaged and can’t work as they should.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt has now said Trump will travel to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Friday (October 10) for his yearly checkup.

"While there, President Trump will stop by for his routine yearly check up. He will then return to the White House. President Trump is considering going to the Middle East shortly thereafter."

However, CNN notes that Trump visited Walter Reed back in April in what the White House described as his 'annual physical examination'.

Somehow, the topic of Trump's health went to the extraordinary lengths of bizarre speculation that he had died, which broke the internet in the process.

The rumors were fuelled from a number of factors, including comments made by Vice President JD Vance.

Vance insisted he could become the president in the event of a 'terrible tragedy'.

"I've had a lot of on-the-job training in the last 200 days, but the president is in incredibly good health. He's got incredible energy," Vance told USA Today.

"While most of the people who work around the president of the United States are younger than he is, I think that we find that he's actually the last person to go to sleep, he's the last person making phone calls at night, and he's the first person who wakes up and is the first person making phone calls in the morning."

The vice president noted that 'terrible tragedies happen', but feels 'very confident that [Trump] is in good shape' and will serve the remainder of his second term.

Another reason was that Trump hadn't been seen in public for two days, sparking speculation online as to what may have happened to him given he is seen in public basically every day.

But rather than assume the president had simply spent the day behind the scenes, everyone rushed to conclude he was dead.
