People think footage may have captured Charlie Kirk’s assassin on the roof of the university before they fired at the conservative commentator.

Charlie Kirk was shot and killed while he was at an event at a Utah college on September 10.

Despite the event being packed full of people, authorities remain uncertain of who the shooter was, and speculation has begun to seep into the situation.

US president Donald Trump confirmed that Kirk had died in a post on social media when the Turning Point founder’s condition was still uncertain.

As Kirk’s talk at Utah Valley University was outside with a massive crowd, many videos of the assassination from different vantage points have spread on social media.

This has allowed authorities to get a better understanding of the potential location of the shooter, with officials believing the fatal shot was fired from the top of the Losee Center, about 200 meters from where Kirk was speaking.

Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones has shared two videos to his Twitter page that potentially show the shooter.

One of the videos shows the aftermath of the shot, with what appears to be a figure on the roof moving.

A second piece of footage shows people ahead of the event recording what appears to be a person on the roof.

The people recording the figure claim that the person had been ‘running on the roof’ and moving from spot to spot.

Initially, authorities confirmed that they had arrested two suspects in connection with the shooting but have said they have since released them.

Officials have said they believe the shooter acted alone and is still at large.

FBI Director Kash Patel took to Twitter and said: "The subject in custody has been released after an interrogation by law enforcement. Our investigation continues and we will continue to release information in interest of transparency."

Another person who was arrested has been released as officials said they have 'no current ties' to the shooting.

Following the shooting political figures have issued tributes to Kirk and condemned the shooter.

Trump wrote on Truth Social: “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie.

"He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”

Former president Joe Biden also commented: "There is no place in our country for this kind of violence. It must end now. Jill and I are praying for Charlie Kirk’s family and loved ones."
