The Department of Homeland Security hit back at singer Chappell Roan after she slammed ICE during a recent show.

Singer Roan didn’t hold back during a Friday (October 10) night performance at the Rose Bowl as she took aim at the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

Taking a break between singing her hits, Roan had a simple message that seemed to really resonate with her fans.

She shouted: “F*** ice forever’ before repeating it again, much to the jubilation and cheers of the audience in California.

Videos of the moment quickly began to circulate on social media, as many fans captured the moment on their phones from different angles.

Many commended Roan for her stance, as there has been much talk of ICE overreaching across the US while also behaving unjustly in detaining individuals without a criminal record or past.

One user wrote: “Y'all know how many birds she's gonna anger by this? I love it and I don't even listen to her.”

Another added: “People screamed louder after that line than they did for the chorus of Pink Pony Club."

With a third writing: “We were there and she was spectacular. She certainly didn’t mince her words!!”

While another fan added: “I'm getting misty eyed. I have not heard so many people in one place cheer. It makes my heart beat a bit stronger. Seeing all the hate against my people, has been so devastating to me. Seeing this, makes my heart 💗💗💗 thank you!!”

However, the Department of Homeland Security has hit back at the singer and dismissed her comments while also offering a slight compliment.

DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin spoke to TMZ and said: “Pink Pony Club is good. Pedophiles are bad. That’s who we’re getting off of our streets. Get a grip."

As well as this, while many people supported Roan’s stance, some argued that she should have been more politically vocal in the run-up to the elections last year.

Some fans even argued that her pushback against ICE was ultimately not that meaningful.

One flustered fan wrote on social media: “Where was this energy earlier with Trump/elections?”

Another added: “She refused to endorse any Democrat candidate last election but wants to speak up now that she see real people pushing back.”

A third disappointed fan wrote: “I'm sorry, but rich people saying things means nothing to me at this point. I agree with her sentiment, but I'm not going to worship someone who's able to sit in their mansion or go on a stage and say something that people are getting beat on the street for saying.”
