Not happy with the outcome of the 2024 US election? No problem, just hop on a cruise ship and come back when it's time for the next vote!

All you need is your passport, and a few thousand dollars. For a lot of people, I imagine it's worth it.

The four-year-long trip has been launched Villa Vie Residences; a residential cruise line which takes vacations to the next level.

Rather than squeezing in a few islands in the week you've managed to get off work, the cruise ship allows passengers to escape from real life by spending months or even years on board.

On Thursday (November 7), the company announced a new package which appears to be a direct response to the US election, which saw Donald Trump secure the 270 electoral votes needed to be the 47th President of the United States.

Titled the 'Skip Forward' package, the trip lasts a whopping four years, and promises visits to 140 countries across all of the world's seven continents.

In an even more direct reference to the election, the 'Mid-Term Selection' package runs for two years, in line with the midterm general elections in the US which are typically held in the middle of a president's four-year term.

The ship has everything you could need on board, including high speed internet, housekeeping, all-inclusive food, spa facilities and fitness programs. You can even invite friends and family to visit - if they happen to be in the area - for a cost of $129 per day.

When not on board the ship, passengers have the opportunity to explore destinations like Buenos Aires, Japan and Sydney, Bali, the Philippines, Singapore and Mumbai, to name a few.

So of course, the big question is how much money would you need to spend to escape US politics for four years? Well, a single-occupancy room stars at $255,999, while a double-occupancy room will set you back $319,998.

If you just want to escape for the first two years, then come back and see how things are going, it will cost you $150,399 for a single-occupancy room and $187,998 for the double.

The cruise ship also offers one-year trips starting at $79,999, and three-year trips starting at $207,999.

In a statement to Business Insider, a spokesperson for Villa Vie Residences said a journey on board the ship gives passengers 'flexibility to escape traffic jams, politics, and the monotony of city life'.

It definitely sounds tempting to me!
