A man who's visited a lot of dangerous countries has revealed the 'worst' thing he's ever seen.

Of course, there are a lot of amazing places to explore across the globe, but it is not all sunshine and rainbows everywhere you go.

Callum Abroad is the ultimate traveller, exploring the beauties of Jerusalem, to war-torn Syria in recent years.

While Callum has visited some amazing destinations, a captive situation in Brazil did bring a sense of shock.

"There's a lot of things you come across on your travels that you are not exposed to in the west," he told UNILAD.

"That can just be from general poverty. That can be tough at times because when I'm travelling I'm managing my money and then you see people on the streets. I would say poverty is the hardest thing for me to see."

"Even the stray animals when you see the animals in the street and you can see all the bones and stuff," Callum continued.

"Obviously we're not really exposed to it too much in the UK, whereas in some of these countries, it's on every street corner."

Many will be put off from travelling due to the different cultures across the globe.

Some are more difficult to adapt to than others, but Callum sees it as a rewarding part to travelling.

"I think in terms of cultures and being somewhere where people don't trust you, I think sometimes it's good just to see out and then people will start to relax," Callum said.

"I think spending time with people and actually immersing with them and learning about their culture, you'll see there's actually similarities with us in the west."

So, thinking about travelling? Callum has some advice for people who may be on the fence.

"[Travelling] opens up your mind to different cultures and makes you realize that when you when you turn on the news, everything's negative, you're not going to see a positive video coming out of Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, it's all negative.

"You actually go and speak to the people and you'll learn that we're all the same really, we just want our family to be safe and financially free."

"So I think when you when you explore the world, you'll see that the majority of people are the same. Regardless of the culture or religion or background, the majority of us are the same."
