Olympian Sturla Holm Lægreid has reflected on whether it was the 'right choice' to reveal he'd cheated on his girlfriend publicly.
Bagging himself a bronze medal and seemingly feeling inspired to share not only his thoughts on winning a Winter Olympic medal but also some secrets, Norwegian athlete Sturla Holm Lægreid admitted to cheating on his girlfriend while on TV.
During an interview with Norwegian broadcaster NRK, the 28-year-old broke down over his win, admitting it didn't feel as good because he couldn't share the excitement with his girlfriend.
Why? Well, three months earlier, he cheated on her. Thankfully, he clarified he'd told her about it about a week before admitting to it on TV.

And he's since reflected further on his decision to break the news publicly, after being asked whether he thought it was 'the right choice'.

During an interview shared by TNT Sports, the athlete was asked to share 'a bit more' about his decision.
He reflected: "I don't know if it's the right choice or not, but it's the choice I made. We make different choices during our life and that's how we make life basically.
"So today I made the choice to tell the world what I did, so maybe, maybe, there's a chance she will know what she really means to me. And maybe not.
"I don't want to think I didn't try everything to get her back. Again, I don't want to steal the show today. I hope this is just like a day or two long thing."
It follows the athlete openly sharing that 'six months ago', he 'met the love of my life and the most beautiful and kindest person in the world' and then three months later, 'cheated on her'.

When breaking the news, Lægreid called it the 'biggest mistake' he's ever made.
"I don't know what I want to achieve by saying this, but sports have been in a different line in recent days. So I wish I could share it with her," he said.
He continued: "You have to admit when you do something you can't stand for, and hurt someone you love so much."
The athlete added that he hoped that, by admitting to his mistake in such a public fashion, he could be a better 'role model'.
He said: "I am willing to drop a nuclear bomb on NRK and commit social suicide and be hated by everyone. Because I am already hated by her, and I hope that maybe it can make her realise how much I love her."
