TikTok star Bella Brave has died aged 10

TikTok star Bella Thomson has sadly died, her mom has announced.

Bella, known as 'Bella Brave' by her fans, found fame on TikTok after her mom Kyla started sharing content of her daughter online as a bit of fun.

Bella's first celebrity encounter was in 2021 when Halsey sent the youngster gifts. She later met the likes of Ryan Reynolds, Katharine McPhee and David Foster.

Their TikTok page @kylaCT has over seven million followers, with the video of Bella meeting Deadpool star Reynolds amassing a staggering 26 million views on the platform.

But as well as Bella's page being about having fun, her mom documented the hardships the young girl faced amid her health battles.

Bella faced a series of health challenges including rare bowel illness Hirschsprung’s disease and severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID).

Sadly a statement has confirmed that she passed away yesterday, July 14.

Announcing the heartbreaking news on social media, Bella's mom wrote: "Our brave girl left her legacy here on earth to dance on streets of gold July 14th 2024 at 4:19pm ET. Bella passed peacefully in our arms.

"Please keep her name on your lips, her memories alive and her bravery in your hearts. Please share with us every detail of how she touched your life or kept you brave.

"Bella would want you to remember; God is love, be brave and you are never too old to bring a stuffy."

In the days leading up to her death, Bella had been placed in a medically induced coma. She was being cared for at Toronto's SickKids hospital after contracting a viral infection in her lungs.

"Her bowel transplant last August was supposed to be the last medical trauma she would ever have to endure," Kyla shared with People at the time.

"Now, to see her fight for her life from an unknown cause that the best of the best in the world at SickKids are trying to understand, is heartbreaking."

Tributes have been rolling in for Bella in the wake of the news of her untimely passing.

One person wrote: "Bella will forever be one of the brightest lights any of us ever got to witness. Her humour and joy and pure zest for life will never leave me. I’m so sorry."

"My heart is broken. Her joy and determination will be remembered in my heart," said a second. "Sending your family so much love and prayers."

Sharing their condolences, another person penned: "I am so sorry... Bella touched so many lives. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time."
