Rex Orange County has been charged with six counts of sexual assault in London

The singer has released a statement denying the allegations.

Rex Orange County has been charged with six counts of sexual assault in London.

The singer, whose real name is Alexander James O'Connor, has been accused of assaulting the same woman on six different occasions over two days, as per The Sun.

According to The Guardian, the 24-year-old artist allegedly assaulted the woman twice at London’s West End back in June.

The following day, he also allegedly assaulted her once in a taxi and then three times at his Notting Hill home.

He appeared in Southwark Crown Court today (October 10), where he pleaded not guilty to the six counts.

A representative has released a statement on Rex Orange County's behalf staunchly denying the allegations against him.

“Alex is shocked by the allegations, which he denies, and looks forward to clearing his name in court,” the statement said.

“He is unable to make any further comment because of the ongoing proceedings.”

Alexander James O'Connor was released on unconditional bail and has had his provisional trial date set for January 3 next year. Pitchfork says the trial is expected to last three days.
