An expert has responded to Elon Musk's calls for President Donald Trump to be impeached.
Musk and Trump's relationship has gone seriously AWOL in the space of just a week.
The feud seems to stem from the billionaire's criticism of Trump's 'big beautiful bill'. Some key provisions of the controversial bill include exempting Social Security from taxation and exempting overtime and tips from taxation.

The SpaceX founder described the bill as a 'disgusting abomination', to which Trump swiftly responded by claiming he was 'disappointed' and that Musk 'knew the inner workings of this bill better than almost anybody sitting here'.
Since then, Musk has claimed there's a link between Trump and the Epstein files - which The White House has dismissed - tweeting: "Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!"
He also suggested the US needs a new political party and called for Trump to be impeached.

Impeachment refers to the process in which charges are brought against a government official for wrongdoing.
In one tweet, Musk seemed to agree with another Twitter user that Trump should be impeached and his vice president, JD Vance, should take over as President of the United States.
The person in question posted: "President vs Elon. Who wins? My money's on Elon. Trump should be impeached and JD Vance should replace him."
Musk proceeded to reshare the tweet and wrote 'yes' alongside it.

However, Michael J. Wynne, a partner at GWA Firm in Houston, Texas, has responded to the claims, stating whether there are any grounds for such a thing, to which he says there aren't.
He told UNILAD: "There are absolutely no constitutional grounds to file articles of impeachment against President Trump. Calling for them now is nothing but pompous and inflammatory, self-aggrandizing rhetoric.

"A president can only be impeached for treason, bribery, and other high crimes and misdemeanors.

"The other times there was at least a superficial case one might argue with a straight face. Not this time. This time it is complete nonsense."
Addressing Musk's exit from DOGE, Trump alleged that the tech billionaire was 'wearing thin' and asked him to step down as a result.
Trump added, per Truth Social: "I asked him to leave, I took away his EV Mandate that forced everyone to buy Electric Cars that nobody else wanted (that he knew for months I was going to do!), and he just went CRAZY!"
Musk proceeded to brand this as an 'obvious lie' and described Trump's comments as 'so sad'.

Meanwhile, in an interview with ABC News, Trump was asked about reports of a potential peacemaking chat with Musk.
He responded: "You mean the man who has lost his mind?" adding that he was 'not particularly' interested in chatting. He later added to CNN: "I'm not even thinking about Elon. He's got a problem. The poor guy's got a problem."
