The president has been slammed for making Joe Biden's cancer diagnosis 'all about himself' in comments to the press.
On Sunday (May 18), Biden's office confirmed the former president has been diagnosed with 'aggressive' prostate cancer that has 'metastasised to the bone'.
The 82-year-old was seen by medics last week for urinary symptoms when a new 'prostate nodule' was found that they confirm has been 'characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5)'.

Fortunately, doctors say the cancer appears to be 'hormone-sensitive,' meaning it can be effectively managed with treatment.

Now, his successor, President Donald Trump, has appeared to make an insensitive comment about his political rival.
Speaking to reporters from the Oval Office, the POTUS said: "I think it's very sad actually, I'm surprised that the public wasn't notified a long time ago because to get to stage 9, that's a long time."

In actuality, Biden's cancer has a score of nine points on the Gleason scale, which assesses how abnormal cancer cells are on a scale of two to 10.
This does put him in the highest Group 5, which means the cancer is likely to spread quickly, but does not mean he has 'stage 9 cancer'.
Trump reiterated the false claim of Biden's 'stage 9' cancer again, suggesting that there are 'things going on that the public wasn't informed [of]' and hinted an investigation should be launched into the Democrat's medical assessments.
He went on: "It's very dangerous. Look, this is no longer politically correct, this is dangerous for our country.

"Look at the mess we're in and you're talking about these questions on Ukraine and Russia, that would have never happened as an example, if I were president, it would never have happened.
"The other thing is why did it take so long? It can take years to get to this level of danger.
"So look it's a very, very sad situation, I feel badly about it and I think people should try find out what happened.

"Somebody is not telling the facts, that's a big problem."
The president also appeared to gloat about his own physical test results, including cognitive tests, stating he is 'proud' to have 'aced it'.
Dozens have since slammed the 78-year-old for his comments, stating he made it 'all about him'.
"He is disgusting at times," one viewer wrote on Twitter.

"As usual, he managed to make a question about Biden's cancer diagnosis all about himself," said another.

A third chimed: "Mentioning 'Stage 9' and then bragging about acing his cognitive tests, is the kinda irony he genuinely excels at."
The comments come as his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., faced similar backlash for suggesting Biden's wife, 'Dr. Jill Biden' managed to 'miss stage five metastatic cancer' and alluded to a 'cover up.'
But many pointed out the former first lady is not a medical doctor, as Jill has a PhD in education.
Don Jr has since hit back that his post was 'sarcasm'.
Several other of Trump's allies have also suggested they believe the 46th POTUS had suffered poor health while in office.
Vice president JD Vance said to reporters: “We really do need to be honest about whether the former president was capable of doing the job.”

The health of the former POTUS was a prevailing concern for voters during his time as president - and during his bid for a second term, particularly following a bewildering 90-minute debate against Trump.
The White House released a statement at the time that denied he was suffering from Alzheimer's.
In November 2021, Biden had a polyp removed from his colon that was benign but possibly pre-cancerous, and a 'basal cell carcinoma,' a common type of skin cancer, was removed from his chest in February 2023.
