A mom has begged for gun reform after three children were killed in yet another elementary school shooting in the US.

The woman, who claimed that her son had survived the mass shooting in Highland Park, Illinois, took over the livestream on Fox News, which was captured by a local CBS affiliate’s video camera, as per The Hill.

As the cameras were rolling, the distressed mother, who has since been identified as Ashbey Beasley, called out the country’s lack of gun safety laws.

“Aren’t you guys tired of covering this? Aren’t you guys tired of being here and having to cover all these mass shootings?” she asked.

The mother added that she had been lobbying in Washington DC since her family had survived the shooting in July last year and had met with over 130 lawmakers.

“How is this still happening? How are our children still dying, and why are we failing them? Gun violence is the number one killing in children and teens, it's overtaken cars," she continued.

She added: “These mass shootings will continue to happen until our lawmakers step up and pass gun safety legislation.”

As the feed cut away, Fox News anchor John Roberts agreed with the mother.

“Yes, we are tired of this. We’re very tired of reporting on school shootings week in and week out,” he said.

Beasley’s remarks come after at least three children and two adults died during a shooting at The Covenant School yesterday (March 27), a private Christian grade school based in Nashville.

According to officials, the Nashville shooter, a 28-year-old woman fatally shot by officers at the scene, had at least two semi-automatic rifles and a handgun.

Following the tragedy, President Joe Biden met with Congress and called the attack ‘sick’ while repeating his plea for assault weapons to be banned.

"We have to do more to stop gun violence. It’s ripping our communities apart,” Biden said at the White House, as per Reuters.

"I call on Congress again to pass my assault weapons ban."

White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters before Biden addressed Congress: "How many more children have to be murdered before Republicans in Congress will step up and act to pass the assault weapons ban, to close loopholes in our background check system or to require the safe storage of guns?"

So far, there have been 139 shootings in the US this year, 13 of them being school shootings.
