Lawyer sacked after viral video catches him snatching wig off a Black woman's head

Thanks to a little internet sleuthing, the man has since been identified as Anthony Orlich.

A man who was accused of snatching a Black woman’s wig has been fired from his position at a New York law firm.

Earlier this week, musician Lizzy Ashleigh uploaded a video of her confronting a man on the street after he allegedly ripped a bright green wig off her head in New York City.

In the video, which has been viewed almost 500,000 times, the artist repeatedly asks him why he did so and the man can be seen smiling and avoiding the question.

“Sir, for what f**king reason? For what reason? For what reason did you take my wig off?” she yells at the man as he ignores her.

As he continues walking, showing no remorse, his friend pleads with him to apologize to Ashleigh.

She adds: “Because what made you think that that was the good thing to do? For what? For what? Why did you do that?”

In a follow-up, Ashleigh reveals to her 66,000 followers that thanks to some internet sleuths, they were able to identify the man as Anthony Orlich.

“Bro, y’all found him in less than 12 hours. TikTok still amazes me, bro. So thank you to everyone who found him and, I guess, reported him to his company,” she said.

“[Number] two, I called the police, all of this today, by the way - 1am it happened - 1 o’clock, the next day, y’all gave me his info, around like 3 o’clock I called the police and I put in a report.”

She added that the police advised her also to receive a checkup at the doctor.

Ashleigh revealed that the doctor told her her neck was 'very tense' and gave her muscle relaxers to cope with the pain.

Vibe reported that Orlich was let go from his position at Leader Berkon Colao & Silverstein LLP in the aftermath.

According to the outlet, the company released a statement he was identified, which said: “We have been made aware of a video of a non-work related incident involving one of our associates circulating on social media.

“We take seriously any inappropriate behavior by any employee, whether inside or outside the workplace. This associate is no longer with the Firm.”

Ashleigh notified her followers that she would be taking legal action against Orlich.

“I am unable to say more at the moment as I move forward legally. I appreciate everyone who identified, called and emailed. Once I receive an update, I can share trust and believe that I will,” she penned in a TikTok video.

UNILAD has approached Ashleigh for comment.
