Kim Kardashian has secured a major win amid Blac Chyna's $100 million (£77m) lawsuit against the Kardashian family.

Chyna, legal name Angela White, is the ex-fiancée of Rob Kardashian and is suing Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian and Kylie Jenner for $100 million in damages for defamation and interference accusations.

Chyna launched the lawsuit back in 2017, claiming the family defamed her and interfered with contracts and business deals that resulted in the end of her reality TV career, following her split from Rob.

The model was filming her reality series Rob & Chyna, a spinoff of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, when the second season was cancelled.

The case commenced at an LA court on 18 April, and now Kim has just secured a major win, with judge Gregory Alarcon having dropped the defamation claim against the beauty mogul yesterday (29 April).

The jury is still deliberating on other claims, including defamation accusations against Kris, Khloe, and Kylie as well as interference accusations.

Chyna's team attempted to argue that a series of text messages and emails from the family were defamatory.

However, none of the messages were from Kim, which lead to the family's attorney Michael Rhodes requesting the defamation suit against the star be dropped.

"Because [Blac Chyna] has neither identified an allegedly defamatory statement by Kim Kardashian, nor specified an instance where she ratified an allegedly defamatory statement by another party, the claim against her must be dismissed," legal documents obtained by PEOPLE state.

"[Blac Chyna's] vague assertion on the record during [her] argument that Kim Kardashian 'ratified those statements and encouraged her sisters to make them' — without specifying how Kim Kardashian ratified them and to whom — is woefully insufficient to maintain a claim," it adds.

"Additionally, statements by other Defendants cannot form the basis of a defamation claim against Kim Kardashian because neither her mother nor her sisters ever acted as her agent."

Blac Chyna's lawsuit with the Kardashian family is on-going.

The jury will continue to deliberate on the other claims made, having gone home on Friday after the first full day of deliberations.

The news follows a series of sensational revelations from the court, including a claims of an alleged physical altercation between Chyna and Rob.
