Viewers have been left extremely concerned for the health of a man who has stayed awake on livestream for over 250 hours.

YouTuber Norme is attempting to break the world record for the longest time without sleeping.

His brother, Don, is one of the few people to appear in the stream and has had to force him to stay awake on multiple occasions.

Those who have tuned into the livestream will know it's not uncommon for Don to splash his brother in the face with water and even forcing him to stand on some occasions.

However, a lot of viewers feel the stunt has now gone too far as Norme has began passing out on stream, hallucinating, and even becoming incoherent.

Many have spammed the chat to demand the challenge is stopped as Norme's health seemingly deteriorates.

In fact, some have even tried to work out where the YouTuber is located so they can send medical professionals over to his yard.

At the time of writing, the livestream is still running.

And a result, one person commented: "GUYS WE NEED TO STOP NORME FROM THIS CHALLENGE BUT NOT BY HARASSING HIM AND HIS FAMILY."

"Guys, please let him sleep it's taking a toll on his health," a second added while a third penned: "

While Norme may be heading closer to the world record, the feat isn't even monitored by the Guinness World Records anymore.

Randy Gardner and his pal Bruce McAllister were the last to achieve such a shocking feat, as they needed to come up with an idea for a science fair project.

They wanted to figure out what happens to our brains when we don't sleep, and that's where the world record came in.

A coin toss meant it was left to Gardner to stay awake for as long as possible - something which caused huge health problems.

The teen managed to stay awake for 264 hours in total before being taken to the naval hospital.

Gardner slept for fourteen hours before impressively waking up naturally without feeling too 'groggy'.

"I slept just over 14 hours. I remember when I woke up, I was groggy, but not any groggier than a normal person," he told NPR.

While no symptoms were present to start with, Gardner later admitted to suffering from decades of unbearable insomnia. "I was awful to be around. Everything upset me. It was like a continuation of what I did 50 years ago," he said.
