A TikTok video proving just how 'horrible' vaping is has been analysed by a doctor.

If you've seen the horrifying simulation showing what happens to your body when you vape and heard of cases of people experiencing not so pleasant side effects from puffing the fruity-flavoured devices, then you'll know despite vaping being advertised as a way to help give up smoking cigarettes, it's far from good for your health.

And a new video on TikTok has revealed a pretty grim image of just what comes out of vapes after someone popped them in a jar of water - it's important to note you should not try this at home or anywhere else for that matter, putting the devices in water seeing an increased risk of them exploding or you getting an electric shock.

A TikToker revealed a bottle of water that she and her roommate had disposed of their vapes in when they resolved to quit vaping once and for all. And well, the result isn't pretty.

Multiple vapes can be seen stuffed inside the water-filled container and the surrounding liquid? It's grim to say the least.

"That's actually really disgusting, it's like black," she noted. "And there's like goo in it, there's mystery goo."

Dr Tim Tiutan took to his page to react to the video, noting he loves how 'visual' the vapes in a water bottle are in revealing just how 'damaging vaping can be to your body'.

"Do a good deed today by sharing this post," he added.

Alas, while Dr Tiutan may think the video is 'motivation to stop vaping,' not all TikTok users have seen it quite the same way.

One social media user said: "I hit my vape right I scrolled to this video."

Another added: "Watching it while vaping."

A third commented: "I once heard that it took people 50 years to know about the side effects of smoking. Makes you wonder how long it will take to know about the effects of vaping."

And someone else pointed out: "With or without the removal of the battery and other electronic components."

However, while indeed the battery and other liquid in the vapes are probably doing the water's ominous color no favors, let's not pretend that inhaling nicotine and other substances is ever going to be good for us.

Healthline notes 'preliminary research suggests vaping poses risks to heart health' alongside potentially having 'negative effects on the lungs' as well as oral health although 'more research is needed'.

"[A] 2018 NAP report found substantial evidence that vaping causes cell dysfunction, oxidative stress, and damage to DNA," it adds.

Oh, and nicotine is an addictive substance too.

Healthline explains: "Vaping has risks, regardless of what you vape. Starting to use e-cigarettes or switching from tobacco products to e-cigarettes increases your risk of adverse health effects."

And so ultimately, it's not a massive surprise its advice states: "The safest option is to avoid vaping and smoking altogether."
