Walmart has rolled out its own take on the viral Starbucks Bearista cup just as the coffee giant announces a restock of the coveted item.

The Seattle-based coffee chain launched the adorable 20-ounce glass - shaped like a teddy bear wearing a green beanie complete with a straw - in early November, just as its holiday menu kicked in.

Customers were sent into a frenzy, desperate to snag one of the limited edition items - which some have dubbed Starbubus - for $29.95.

But its exclusive run saw customers massively disappointed. Despite waking up early to get their hands on one of the trendy cold cups, people missed out due to low stock, with some social media users accusing baristas of nabbing the cups themselves.

Starbucks was forced to apologize over the matter, claiming 'the excitement for our merchandise exceeded even our biggest expectations'.

"Despite shipping more Bearista cups to coffeehouses than almost any other merchandise item this holiday season, the Bearista cup and some other items sold out fast," they added.

“We understand many customers were excited about the Bearista cup and apologize for the disappointment this may have caused.”

On Sunday (December 7), about a month since its launch, Starbucks teased the Bearista's return with a social media video.

A line of red holiday cups were lifted up and away to reveal the sought-after Bearista in all its glory.

"Your chance is in the Starbucks app. Tomorrow, 12/8," reads the post's caption.

No further details have been shared.

While some fans are elated by the cup's return, others remain sceptical.

Meanwhile, the Bearista has already reached true viral item status. How, you ask?

Well, because multiple dupes are already popping up elsewhere.

It's happened to Stanely Cups, Labubus and even your favorite designer perfumes.

And now, Walmart has launched its own version of the Bearista - at a much cheaper price.

On sale from just $15.99, it's currently $13.96 less than the original Starbucks version.

There is also another Walmart bear cup for $20, which comes with the festive addition of a white and red striped scarf.

Walmart's description of the cup claims it is 'crafted from premium durable materials' that can 'withstand the excitement of Christmas celebrations'.

"Whether used for decorating Christmas trees repeatedly or as a holiday playmate for kids, it will accompany you and extend festive joy for years," it continues.

So if you are wanting in on the trend but don't want to queue up outside Starbucks in the early hours, you can now order your own dupe in time for Christmas.
