A woman has been arrested after allegedly making social media posts threatening to kill Donald Trump.
Nathalie Rose Jones, 50, was arrested in Columbia on Saturday (August 16) and charged by authorities in connection with a series of posts on Instagram and Facebook that threatened the President's life.
The US District Court has charged her with threatening to take the life of, kidnap, or inflict bodily harm upon the President of the United States, and transmitting in interstate commerce communications containing threats to kidnap any person or any threat to injure the person of another.
Before her arrest, she had travelled down to Washington D.C. on August 16 to partake in a demonstration at Dunpoint Circle, which circumnavigated the White House; however, she denied any present intention to harm Trump to the US Secret Service in an interview.

According to authorities, between August 6 and 9, an Instagram user called 'nath.jones' had posted a series of threatening comments against Trump, while on Facebook between August 6 and August 15, more threatening posts were published.
On Instagram, the posts called for Trump's removal from office, as well as calling him a 'terrorist' and labelling his presidency as a 'dictatorship'.
The social media posts also blamed Trump regarding the 'extreme and unnecessary loss of life in relation to the coronavirus'.

Over on Facebook, Jones allegedly threatened to 'disembowel' the President in a post directed at the FBI, writing: "I am willing to sacrificially kill this POTUS by disemboweling him and cutting out his trachea with Liz Cheney and all The Affirmation present."
And in another post, this time directed to US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, she allegedly wrote: "Please arrange the arrest and removal ceremony of POTUS Trump as a terrorist on the American People from 10-2pm at the White House on Saturday, August 16, 2025."
In a voluntary interview with the Secret Service on August 15, the suspect allegedly described Trump as a 'terrorist' and 'Nazi', and that if she had the opportunity, she'd kill him 'at the compound' if she had to.

She also allegedly claimed to have a 'bladed object' to 'carry out her mission of killing' Trump to 'avenge all the lives lost during the Covid-19 pandemic'.
The Department of Justice said in a press release that the Secret Service is currently investigating the case. They also claimed that Jones had confirmed she was the owner of the Facebook account which posted the messages.
US Attorney Jeanine Pirro said in a statement: "Threatening the life of the President is one of the most serious crimes and one that will be met with swift and unwavering prosecution. Make no mistake—justice will be served.
"We extend our deepest gratitude to our dedicated law enforcement partners, especially the Secret Service Special Agents from New York and Washington, D.C., for their tireless commitment to protecting our leaders and our nation."
