Fans outraged after Usher didn't bring out fan-favorite surprise guest at Super Bowl

Some Super Bowl viewers have been left a little disappointed by Usher's halftime show

Some Super Bowl viewers have been left outraged after Usher didn't bring out one particular fan-favorite surprise guest for his halftime show.

It was confirmed back in September that Usher would be this year's headliner in what the 45-year-old dubbed as 'an honor of a lifetime'.

Speaking in an interview with Vogue last month, the singer opened up about the pressure of heading up the Super Bowl halftime show.

“It has to be perfect,” he said. “I’ve been doing this for 30 years. I want people who have been a part of that journey to feel like it’s a celebration for everybody.”

Teasing his performance, the star added: “This night was specifically curated in my mind to have R&B take the main stage.

“I’m literally speaking to every woman. I want to make it feel like that. I want the world to smile when they look at me. I want them to feel something, and feel my passion, my love, feel like I was the right person to sit in this position, and I was the right person to bring this kind of energy, and love, and connection to the entire world.”

While Usher brought out many surprise guests for his half time show, some fans were left a little disappointed after he didn't bring one particular star out.

And before you ask, no it's not Taylor Swift - but instead Justin Bieber.

Usher featured on Bieber’s 2010 song, ‘Somebody to Love’ and fans thought the halftime show would have been the perfect opportunity for the pair to reunite.

Taking to X, one viewer wrote: "USHER DIDN’T BRING OUT JUSTIN BIEBER FOR THE SUPER BOWL."

"Missed opportunity for Justin Bieber to come out," a second added.

While a third asked: "WHERE IS JUSTIN BIEBER?”

Though the 'Baby' hitmaker was seen watching on from the crowd with his wife, Hailey.

There may have been no Bieber on stage, but Usher's halftime show did include the likes of Alicia Keys, Jermaine Dupri, H.E.R, Lil John and Ludacris.

And many viewers have since gone wild for the celebrity guests.

"Usher suprised the world with an actual good halftime performance. Alicia Keys gotta be the best guest OAT," raved one person.

"Yasssssssssss HER with the guitar solo!!!!!!!!" said another excited fan.

A third tweeted: "Lil Jon is HERE!"

"Usher and Alicia Keys light up the halftime show with electrifying performances, proving once again why they're music royalty," a different viewer continued.

As for on the field at the 2024 Super Bowl, the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers are battling it out at Nevada's Allegiant Stadium, as each team competes to take home the coveted Vince Lombardi Trophy.
