In an explosive rant, Nicki Minaj has claimed that female rappers are being paid to post 'diss tweets' about her.

Minaj is currently out and about promoting her upcoming album and the single 'Red Ruby Da Sleeze'.

The comments surrounding the tweets were made during a listening session of Minaj's new song on the Stationhead app.

During a conversation with Rah Ali, Minaj certainly didn't shy away from criticizing the state of the rap genre and had a few harsh words to say about her rivals.

She said: "As you rap and you write, you get better. And you get better every day.

"I think the thing is, now, because of the … microwaveability of TikTok artist getting deals, Instagram people getting likes or Twitter people… girls’ labels and management companies paying for viral tweets and paying for Nicki diss tweets and all that."

She added: "So now, it’s kinda like, if I don’t remind them that we’re actually here to rap, who will?

"And then, on top of that, don’t ever put me in the same muthaf****** sentence. Don’t use my name for any examples.

"You have to write your verses, period. And I say that with love because I think that now people are feeling pressure of having to, I don’t know, do things fast."

Minaj is not exactly best known for her good relationships with some of her competitors in the music industry.

One of those is Latto, who had a very public spat with Minaj on Twitter in October.

And in an interview last month, Latto addressed the very public spat she had with Minaj on social media.

So, what exactly happened between the pair? Well, Minaj took to the popular social media app to claim that her track 'Super Freaky Girl' had originally been submitted into the rap categories but was later moved to the pop division.

While Minaj insisted that she had no problem with the change, she added that consistency should be applied across the board.

The American artist made her point by bringing up 'Big Energy' by Latto.

Minaj wrote: "I have no prob being moved out the RAP category as long as we r ALL being treated FAIRLY.

"If [‘Super Freaky Girl’] has 2B moved out RAP then so does Big Energy! ANY1 who says diff is simply a Nicki hater or a troll."

As you'd probably expect, Latto responded to Minaj on Twitter, saying: "Damn I can’t win for losing… all these awards/noms I can’t even celebrate."

After that, a lot of shots were fired, with Minaj referring to Latto as an 'entitled Karen' who has mentioned her name 'in over 100 interviews'.

In the Twitter beef, Latto said that she admired Minaj while growing up, but that had seemingly changed after their public spat.

Latto went on to refer to Minaj as a 'super freaky grandma', something that Minaj also responded to in the never-ending Twitter bout.
