People are drawing comparisons between the lyrics of one of Lizzo's songs and her current situation being sued by three former dancers.

Three dancers, who previously worked for the singer filed a lawsuit against her on Tuesday, 1 August, accusing her of sexual harassment, body shaming and overall creating a hostile working environment.

One of the plaintiffs alleges she was pressured by the 'About Damn Time' singer to touch a nude performer at a strip club in Amsterdam.

Lizzo also reportedly conducted a 12-hour audition, accusing dancers of drinking beforehand and bringing attention to one dancer's weight gain.

Allegations against Lizzo include religious and racial harassment, disability discrimination, fat-shaming, assault and false imprisonment.

In a 44-page court document filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court, Lizzo's production company Big Grrrl Big Touring is named as a defendant alongside the musician herself.

While only three of the singer's former dancers are official plaintiffs, others who used to be part of Lizzo's troupe have come out to publicly support them and claim they faced a similar experience while working under the production company and singer.

Taking to her Instagram story, fellow former dancer of Lizzo's, Courtney Hollingquest said: "For clarification, I’m not a part of the lawsuit - but this was very much my experience in my time there.

"Big shoutout to the dancers who had the courage to bring this to light."

A clip from Lizzo's 2021 release 'Rumors', which featured fellow musician, Cardi B, has been widespread on social media in the wake of the news of the lawsuit.

The song's release took place in the same year Lizzo is accused of having sexual harassed a former dancer and fostered a hostile working environment.

The clip features a section of the song in which the lyrics read: "Had to cut some h**s loose, yeah / NDA, no loose lips.

"Now them h**s tryna sue me / B***h, I don’t give two s***s / All the rumors are true, yeah."

People have flooded to Twitter to give their two cents on the lyrics.

One user said: "THE WAY SHE TOLD US WITHOUT TELLING US this is why ima stick with Rihanna and Beyoncé everyone else weird."

"Lizzo's song Rumors is about to get more play now than it ever did organically. Yikes," a second added.

A third commented: "Lizzo dropped a song talking about all the rumors are true as if she was getting ahead of the scandal and taking control of the narrative, but it’s not working out in her favor at all lol. The public has the accounts from other people and it just makes her look worse…"

And a fourth commented: "Lizzo’s dancers said f**k them NDA’s and all of those rumors are most definitely true. Smh."
