After Kid Rock was announced as a performer for Turning Point USA’s alternative Halftime show to the Super Bowl 60 event, people have been urging him to do one thing.
The late Charlie Kirk’s organization’s plans to host a concert for people who don’t want to see Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl 60 rendition on Sunday, (February 8), has been somewhat controversial already.
After Erika Kirk became the new CEO after her husband’s assassination last year, things immediately began to change.
Such as the announcement that it had booked four country music stars to perform at its own production - but it fell a little flat.

The show announced on its website that the All American Halftime Show will include performances from the likes of Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice and Gabby Barrett.
On social media, people wrote on X like: “Anyone else disappointed?”

A second said: “I'll be watching but I am a little disappointed in this lineup. Going to struggle getting Gen Z to care.”
“I knew it would be Kid Rock and 3 people I’ve never heard of.” Others, however, have been urging him to sing his 1997 hit, ‘Cool Daddy Cool’, which reportedly sings about underage girls.
The song, which was featured in the cartoon flick, Osmotis Jones in 2001, has some eyebrow raising lyrics.
“Wonder if Kid Rock will sing ‘Cool Daddy Cool?’” one social media user penned, as another wrote: “Will Kid Rock be singing his song ‘Cool, Daddy Cool’ that contains these lyrics: ‘Young ladies, young ladies, I like ‘em underage,’ ‘See some say that’s statutory.’ ‘But I say it’s mandatory.’”
Let’s peek at the lyrics here:
“On my cell phone I’m paid, G, can’t call me, just page me/ Young ladies, young ladies, I like ’em underage, see . Some say that’s statutory / But I say it’s mandatory / My story ain’t that complex, two forties and a Rolex.”
Despite people calling for him to rehash some pretty uneasy lyrics on the big stage, Rock has showed his commitment to the show and to Americans.
“We plan to play great songs for folks who love America,” Rock said in a statement, per US Weekly: “We’re approaching this show like David and Goliath. Competing with the pro football machine and a global pop superstar is almost impossible … or is it?”
The ‘Rockstar’ singer then took aim at Bad Bunny and the Super Bowl, slamming: “He’s said he’s having a dance party, wearing a dress and singing in Spanish?
“Cool. We plan to play great songs for folks who love America.”
