The Department of Justice has accused nine people of kidnapping a group of people in January, with one of the alleged victims being Gucci Mane.
On January 10, 2026, three people traveled to Dallas, Texas, for what they believed to be a business meeting at a music studio, according to the complaint.
Per an affidavit, Gucci Mane — best known for songs like 'Wake Up in the Sky' and 'I Get the Bag' – was one of the individuals targeted. The other two haven't been named publicly but are referred to as M.M. and B.P. in police documents, says CNN.
Once Gucci Mane and the two others rocked up to the studio, Pooh Shiesty (real name Lontrell Williams Jr.) allegedly orchestrated an armed takeover alongside eight others. He's been described as the 'ringleader' of the operation.

Pooh Shiesty, 26, has been accused of pulling an AK-style pistol out during the so-called business meeting and forcing fellow rapper Gucci Mane to sign paperwork that released him from his contract at gunpoint. Pooh Shiesty is signed to 1017 Records, which was founded by 46-year-old Gucci Mane (real name Radric Delantic Davis) almost 20 years ago.
The accused also reportedly robbed those present. According to CBS News, one victim was choked from behind to the point of near unconsciousness and robbed of a Rolex watch, a Louis Vuitton bag, and other valuables.
The victims are said to have feared for their lives.
Pooh Shiesty has since been arrested and was taken into custody yesterday. Seven of his alleged accomplices, including fellow rapper Big30 (Rodney Lamont Wright Jr.) and Pooh Shiesty's father, have been arrested too. A ninth person, named as Terrance Rodgers, hadn't been arrested at the time of the news conference held yesterday but was going to be 'soon', according to Ryan Raybould, the US Attorney for the Northern District of Texas.

Raybould said in the conference, via WWNY-TV, that Pooh Shiesty was on home confinement for a prior firearms conspiracy conviction out of Florida at the time of the January incident and was wearing an ankle monitor.
Law enforcement has since used the monitor to place him at the scene of the alleged crimes carried out at the Dallas-based music studio, in addition to surveillance videos, cell phone records and images posted on social media.
UNILAD has approached representatives for Gucci Mane, Big30, and Pooh Shiesty for comment.
