Fans of Adele are flooding to social media after the singer told crowds she'll be taking a 'rest' from touring.

On Saturday (August 31), Adele took to the stage for her final show in Munich in Germany and made an important announcement.

A clip from the night was shared to Twitter by a user named @adeledrinkswine on August 31, and in the footage, the 36-year-old singer can be seen addressing the crowds thanking them 'all' for coming to her show.

She told the audience: "I would like everyone who's come to any one of my shows ever, thank you so much for coming.

"I am - I'm not the most comfortable performer, I know that, but I am very f**king good at it and I have really enjoyed performing for nearly three years now which is the longest I've ever done and probably the longest I will ever do."

In the clip, the singer explained the Munich performance was meant to be her last show but she's 'thrilled' she has 10 shows after as part of her Las Vegas residency. Shows that were postponed when she was 'poorly' earlier in the year, but are set to conclude at Caesars Colosseum on November 23.

However, after that, Adele broke the news you 'will not see [her] for an incredibly long time'.

The singer said: "I will hold you dear in my heart for that whole next of my break and I will fantasize about these shows and any shows that I've done over the last three years and I really, really hold them in the bottom of my heart forever - it's been amazing."

She then revealed she 'just needs a rest' after spending 'the last seven years building a new life' for herself.

"I want to live my new life that I've been building," Adele continued, through tears. "And I will miss you terribly and I will see some of you, I'm sure some of you will end up being in f**king Vegas. I wouldn't put it past you."

Adele resolved: "But I will remember these shows for eternity, they have been spectacular."

And it's not taken long for fans of the 'Hello' singer to take to social media to respond.

One Twitter user wrote: "I'm gonna miss her."

"I am proud of Adele for taking the most needed break, she is a mom and now she can marry the man that loves her dearly. And enjoy living life with him building a new family," another added.

And a third resolved: "Take all the time you need, live the life you’ve always been dreaming of. We’ll be here when you’re ready @adele."
