Adele has had no choice but to postpone Las Vegas residency dates after an illness has 'taken its toll' on her voice.

The 'Hello' singer took to Instagram to share the news, revealing the affected dates all fall in March.

Adele is known to be a vocal powerhouse, but shared that she was experiencing 'issues with her voice', as she made the announcement to fans.

"Sadly I have to take a beat and pause my Vegas residency," the hit-maker wrote in her post.

"I was sick at the end of the last leg and all the way through my break. I hadn't quite gotten the chance to get back to full health before shows resumed and now I'm sick again, and unfortunately it's taken a toll on my voice."

With the 35-year-old under 'doctors orders' to rest her voice, she has been heavily advised to postpone the shows until fully recovered.

She continued: "And so on doctors orders I have no choice but to rest thoroughly. The remaining 5 weekends of this leg are being postponed to a later date. We are already working out the details and you will be sent the information asap. The postponed dates are 1. 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29 & 30 March."

Adele captioned her post: "I love you, I'll miss you like mad and I'm sorry for the inconvenience x."

The star hasn't had the best run health wise, and she had to also take a vocal rest over Christmas 2023 after falling ill during her final shows of the year in early November at Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

She also underwent surgery back in 2011 for Polyps, a condition affecting the vocal chords.

As the singer persisted to perform her show last weekend, she clearly struggled vocally and quipped to the audience that she 'sounds like Ursula from the Little Mermaid.'

Adele told the crowd: "In the middle of last night - I'm sure you can hear it in my talking voice and my singing voice a little bit. Your girl was tired. I didn't sleep very well.

"And Ursula from the ocean has come from my chest tonight. I can't hit my headnotes properly. I didn't sleep very well and my chest is on fire."

She later added: "Straight after this show I am going on voice rest. Can you imagine how hard now me not talking for three days is? So I'm going to be in bed coughing my guts up on complete voice rest."
