Portman's physical transformation for the role of The Mighty Thor already had fans taken aback, but the trailer has given a glimpse of her in character for the very first time.

"Umm..why does Natalie Portman have bigger arms than me.The trailer of Thor: Love and Thunder is making me excited and forcing me to start hitting the gym again," one Twitter user wrote.

Another said: "JANE AS THE MIGHTY THOR IN THE THOR LOVE AND THUNDER TRAILER IM SCREAMING."

Another Marvel fan pointed out how positive it is to see a 'Lady Thor'. "I cannot BELIEVE we get Lady Thor in a movie, finally. The fact that the MCU's finally progressing with the comics (at least this much, anyway) is wild," they stated.

The film's cinematography has also wowed fans, with one noting how 'aesthetically pleasing' the shots are.

"Thor: Love and Thunder looks SO beautiful oh my god," another stated.

A third summarised: "Can I just say this is a perfect example of how you do a teaser trailer. You’re not getting a synopsis of the the entire film. But it perfectly gives you setting, and a vibe. That’s a trailer."

A YouTuber called the trailer's use of colour 'jaw-dropping'. "Both Raimi and Waititi are bringing their A game to phase 4," they said.

Viewers also adored the music choice for the trailer – Guns N' Roses' 1987 release 'Sweet Child O' Mine'.

"You can bring out so many emotions in me from good music choice lol, this looks amazing," one fan wrote.

Another joked: "Taika's direction for Thor to become album cover rock art just went up another level!"

"I gotta hand it to Marvel. They are showing a new generation of kids what epic music is," a third commented.

The focus on 'exploring Thor's complex character above ALL else,' has also been praised by Marvel followers as being an unexpected but positive focus for the film.

"'I need to figure out exactly who I am'. [...] God I'm so excited I could EXPLODE," a user wrote.

Another reflected: "This looks... COMPLETELY different to what I expected. Almost like a character study of Thor. Looks like it could be really interesting."

Hemsworth also shared the teaser on Twitter, describing the film as having 'all the feels of a classic Thor adventure'.

He said: "Big, loud and Crazy and full of heart. You’ll laugh you’ll cry, then you’ll laugh so much you’ll cry some more!! Love and Thunder coming at you all July 8th!!"
