A trailer for the brand new Superman movie has dropped and fans are loving what they have seen from the James Gunn-directed movie so far.

The highly anticipated movie, which is set to drop on 11 July 2025, has seen its first teaser trailer drop following a small tease that was released on Monday (December 16). Watch the new trailer here:

The teaser shows David Corenswet as Superman for the first time, standing firm wearing his tight blue suit along with the tagline 'Look up'.

After watching the short teaser earlier this week, many flocked to social media to express their excitement.

One person wrote: "My dear brother James Gunn, this poster makes me feel like I’m flying with Superman. What a great job! I’m very happy and incredibly proud of you. You’ve been working so hard, and you did it! The beautiful music behind it gave me goosebumps when I saw it."

"This is going to be beautiful. I can't wait for the trailer hopefully coming soon and the movie," a second added.

While a third remarked: "Rad. Can’t wait. And I love the tag line, I used to look up a lot but have noticed that hasn’t been the case lately, so this is a good reminder to look up again."

Not everyone is such a fan, however, which led to one film fan stating: "The amount of people hating on the new #Superman movie is insane. I’m not even a Superman fan, but how are you all having such a vitriolic reaction having seen less than 30 seconds of footage when you account for all the title screens spliced in?"

Those who have been following the film may be remember it originally being called Superman: Legacy, but Gunn revealed back in February he was cutting the name down to just Superman.

At around the same time, the writer-director posted the first cast photo from the movie’s first table read of the hugely anticipated script.

And in May, the director revealed the new Superman suit for the first time on social media.

Fans appeared to be loving the costume new Superman David Corenswet would be wearing, with one person taking to social media and saying: "You guys ate James. Can’t wait to see this suit in action!"

While another said: Great costume design @jamesgunn so ready for this."

Alongside Corenswet amongst the cast is Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Nathan Fillon and Isabela Mercad.
