The Simpsons predicting the future? Surely, not again.

The longest-running animated series in history has garnered quite the reputation over the years for correctly predicting events that will happen in the years ahead.

Notable jokes on the popular show have included Lady Gaga's flying entrance into the Super Bowl, the US battling murder hornets, a disease eerily similar to Covid-19 and Donald Trump reaching The White House.

And yet, another wild prediction made by The Simpsons is coming to life this evening (10 July), a prediction made by the cartoon way back in 1996.

Nearly 30 years ago now, The Simpsons featured a gaff where Cypress Hill believed they had mistakenly booked the London Symphony Orchestra whilst under the influence.

During 'Homerpalooza', Cypress Hill are seen collaborating with the London Symphony Orchestra backstage at a music festival.

In a short clip from the show, a roadie at a music festival is seen calling out for one of the performers to own up to who has ordered an orchestra to arrive.

He initially yells: "Hello bands, who is playing with the London Symphony Orchestra? Come on people somebody ordered a London Symphony Orchestra...possibly while high," before then joking: "Cypress Hill, I'm looking in your direction."

The musicians then have a quick chat among themselves before admitting they 'think' they might have roped in the orchestra.

This happens before they ask the audience whether they know their track, 'Insane in the Brain'.

Perhaps the most unlikely music duo decide to 'give it a shot' and then belt out an incredible version of the song.

And that exact joke becomes a reality in the UK tonight as fans can watch the California collective play songs from Black Sunday, their 90s album, and other tracks alongside the LSO at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

"We are thrilled to be performing with the London Symphony Orchestra in such a prestigious venue as the Royal Albert Hall. It's a dream come true, a collaboration only The Simpsons could have predicted," Cypress Hill said.

Meanwhile, in a press release detailed earlier this year, The orchestra's managing director Kathryn McDowell DBE thanked The Simpsons for always making stellar predictions.

She said: "After years of social media teasing it, many fans have started to believe it would only be a pipe dream – but the LSO is delighted to finally be joining Cypress Hill on stage and in person, and look forward to creating an unforgettable musical movement!

"Many thanks to the creators of The Simpsons for the idea and to AEG Artistic and PolyArts for making it all happen."
