In the new series of their reality TV show, Tammy from 1000lb-Sisters was taken to hospital after she 'quit breathing'.

Tammy and her sister Amy document their weight loss journey in the TLC reality TV show, after starting off with a combined weight of over 1000 lbs.

While their weight loss has been incredible so far, the teaser trailer for the upcoming series that premieres on 17 January shows how far they still need to go. Watch it below:

In the clip, Tammy is shown being rushed to hospital after she'd 'quit breathing', with Amy also heard saying that 'her body shut down'.

In an exclusive clip provided to People, Tammy was given tracheotomy, which is a surgical procedure that creates a hole in the throat to insert a breathing tube.

This could give her emergency breathing support at any time to help with the situations that led to her being rushed to hospital.

"I'm still here b***hes!" she exclaims.

In the teaser clip, Tammy can also be heard asking her doctor if she can get approved for bariatric surgery - a procedure that involves making changes to your digestive system to help you lose weight.

But the doctor said that she cannot have it yet due to the risks involved, adding that she would need to lose a significant amount of weight first.

Tammy was denied bariatric surgery because of the risks.

Surgeon Dr Eric Smith said: "I told you Tammy, you have real risks," with her brother Chris adding: "If she doesn't get the surgery, she's gonna die because of her weight."

The reality star also went back in rehab to help with her weight loss journey, where she sparked up a romance with her now-husband Caleb Willingham.

But her health continued to decline.

At the end of the trailer, doctors can be seen rushing to her bedside shouting that her 'oxygen's dropping'.

Her family can be seen getting emotional in the trailer while talking to her over video call, with them fearing that 'she's gonna end up dead'.

The health scares kept on coming as doctors rushed to her bedside.

The reality star could be seen wearing a red tank top and a freckle filter over her face, while also wearing an oxygen tube.

One person wrote: "You've done so well, Tammy."

A second added: "Tammy you are looking good! Can't wait to watch the show."
