The View's Sara Haines walked off after co-host Whoopi Goldberg made an X-rated admission while live on air.

Goldberg joined the cast of The View as a host and moderator in 2007 and has been a big presence on the chat show ever since.

During Wednesday's episode (November 13), the cast were celebrating Goldberg's 69th birthday, with a bunch of games and discussions dedicated to the Oscar-winning actor.

One particular segment saw the Ghost star standing behind of a wheel of cheese with her face on it.

"I always wanted my face on cheese," Haines said.

Responding to her co-host, Goldberg quipped: "I like to be eaten from time to time."

The studio gasped, laughed and clapped all in one at the innuendo, while Haines jokingly walked off, shocked at Goldberg's X-rated admission.

Realizing what she had done, the 69-year-old added: "Never mind. This is a wheel of authentic Parmigiano Reggiano from Italy, and this has been aged for 24 months and it's a testament to Italian tradition and quality."

Struggling to keep it together, Haines embraced Goldberg as she returned to the stage while the audience continued to look on in disbelief.

"If you’d like a chance to win a wheel just like this one," Goldberg continued, before Haines added: "And eat Whoopi Goldberg!"

Going along with the joke, the comedian said: "That’s right! No - and eat yourself!"

Goldberg surprised many of her fans earlier this year after revealing where she scattered her mom's ashes.

The TV presenter penned in her memoir that she found out her mom had died while starring in a West End run of Sister Act the musical.

And during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Myers, Goldberg opened up about the 'special' way she said goodbye to her mom, forewarning the audience that 'no one should do this'.

She went on to say she decided to scatter her mom's ashes in a location she 'loved'.

The location is certainly not a conventional place to scatter a loved one's ashes, with Goldberg revealing she took them to Disneyland.

She continued: "When I was a kid, the World's Fair was here and it was the introduction of Small World. And she loved Small World.

"So, in the Small World ride periodically, I'd scoop some of her up and I'd do this [Pretends to sneeze] Oh. I said: 'My God, this cold is getting worse and worse.'

"And then we got over to the flowers where it says 'Disneyland'. And I was like: 'Oh, look at that'. [Cue another fake sneeze]."
