Fatal Attraction legend Glenn Close has opened up about going nude in her new coming-of-age film The Summer Book.
Based on author Tove Jansson's 1972 novel, it stars Close as a character simply named Grandmother opposite Emily Matthews' Sophia.
Ahead of the big screen adaptation's release, the 78-year-old told AARP's Movies for Grownups that it was actually her idea to strip off as she believed that Grandmother would definitely do so in her own company.
The last time Close got naked in front of the camera was in 1987's aforementioned bunny-boiler thriller, having first done it four years earlier in The Big Chill too.

Referring to the story's setting, she said: "In Finland, they're much more used to nakedness than we are."
In on scene, Grandmother strolls through a forest fully naked.
"I didn't want to put my clothes back on. It felt so good."

The official synopsis for the film reads: "Nine-year-old Sophia spends the summers at her family's seasonal home on a tranquil isle in the Gulf of Finland, but this will be the first summer without her mother.
"Her father remains numbed by grief while her grandmother guides her on a giddy, winding path towards young adulthood in a delicate account of growing up and growing old."
Close also spoke about becoming a grandmother in real life for the very first time.
Her daughter Annie Starke and husband Marc Albu welcomed little boy Rory Westaway Albu back in February.

"I now have a little grandson. He's almost seven months old. And I'm very aware of my role as grandmother. I'm very proud of it, and I love spending time with him," she told the publication.
Referring to their shared idyllic ranch life in Montana, the actress revealed that the family are there so that Rory can grow up surrounded by the magnificence of nature.
"He'll know that property like the back of his hand, and he'll know the changing of the seasons. He'll know how things grow. He'll get respect for wildlife, he'll build his secret places and it will sustain him through life, as my childhood did, my early childhood running around the Connecticut countryside," commented Close.

Meanwhile, Close stopped by Drew Barrymore's talkshow earlier this year where she was quizzed on her love life after divorcing ex-husband David Shaw a decade ago.
When The Wedding Singer star asked whether she'd been entertaining any relationships since the split, her guest bluntly replied 'no'.
Barrymore conceded that she was very much in the same boat, although Close explained why this didn’t bother her very much.
"I don't know, I'm always up for anything but I am very happy right now," she noted.

Barrymore couldn’t help but dig a little deeper and asked if Close had ever checked out the dating app scene.
"Are you crazy?!" replied Close, adding that she was 'too shy' to try all of that.
