Anya Taylor-Joy revealed she had to ‘fight’ multiple directors to transform her characters’ crying scenes.

Taylor-Joy, 28, has been a silver screen darling since making her big screen debut in Robert Eggers’ 2015 horror flick, The Witch.

Since then, the Florida-born star has appeared in projects such as M. Night Shyamalan’s Split, Edgar Wright’s Last Night in Soho and more recently Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.

Despite starring in a multitude of blockbuster hits, Taylor-Joy hasn’t always had an easy ride.

In recent interviews, the actress has admitted she’s butted heads with directors on numerous occasions.

The Glass star claimed she once argued with Eggers, 40, over a scene in The Witch where her character, Thomasin, would sob while getting dragged through her family’s farmyard.

“Eventually I said, ‘She’s angry; she’s f*****ng p***ed. She’s been blamed time and time again, and she’s not doing anything. We have to stop with the crying’,” she told British GQ.

Elsewhere, Taylor-Joy revealed to The New York Times that she also ‘fought’ with Furiosa director George Miller, 79, for ‘three months’ to include a screaming scene.

“I do want to 100 percent preface this by saying I love George and if you’re going to do something like this, you want to be in the hands of someone like George Miller,” she began.

“I am a really strong advocate of female rage. We’re animals and there’s a point where somebody just snaps.

“There’s one scream in that movie, and I am not joking when I tell you that I fought for that scream for three months. … With George, it’s a long game.”

Taylor-Joy also explained that she’s since developed ‘a bit of a reputation’ for swapping crying scenes for screaming matches.

“[It’s] a strange thing, because I’m not promoting violence – but I am promoting women being seen as people.

“We have reactions that are not always dainty or un-messy.”

Elsewhere, the Mad Max alumni revealed she suffered a ‘hard’ time filming the post-apocalyptic action movie.

After claiming she’d ‘never been more alone’ on set, she was asked to expand on the difficulties.

“Next question, sorry,” she replied. “Talk to me in 20 years.”

Thankfully, Taylor-Joy’s time on the prequel wasn’t all doom and gloom as she expressed some positive sentiments about her co-star, Chris Hemsworth, 40.

“He’s just the most wonderful, kind-hearted, big-hearted individual,” she gushed. “We have a lot of fun. I’m very lucky.”
