Friends cast 'in talks' to reunite for tribute to Matthew Perry

The Chandler Bing actor was found dead at his Los Angeles home last month

Friends fans are continuing to mourn the death of beloved Chandler Bing actor Matthew Perry, who was found dead at this Los Angeles home last month.

Last week, Perry's co-stars Lisa Kudrow (who played Phoebe Buffay), Matt LeBlanc (Joey Tribbiani), David Schwimmer (Ross Geller), Courteney Cox (Monica Geller) and Jennifer Aniston (Rachel Green) all paid tributes to their friend online.

While Aniston shared an emotional screengrab of a heartfelt text exchange with the late comedy actor, Kudrow thanked him for 'the best 10 years a person gets to have'.

Le Blanc - who with Perry starred as best friends for 10 years on the show between 1994 and 2004 - described their time spent together 'an honour'.

Schwimmer opened up about one of his 'favorite moments' spent with his co-star, and Cox - who played his on-screen wife - wrote: "I am so grateful for every moment I had with you Matty and I miss you every day".

And today, reports have been circulating online that say that the five remaining stars are 'in talks' to honor Perry's incredible life on-stage at this year's Emmy Awards.

According to the MailOnline, the 90s sitcom stars are said to be keen to share their 'personal memories' of Perry, giving him the tribute he 'rightfully deserves'.

Perry died on 28 October at the age of 54 after being found in a hot tub in his Los Angeles home.

His cause of death has been deferred, pending the results of a toxicology report.

The publication claimed: "When it comes to Matthew's death, emotions are still running high and it is still a very touchy situation, which is totally understandable.

"But Jen, Lisa, and the rest of the cast want to honor him publicly at some point and give him the tribute he so rightfully deserves - and there have been rumblings to do it at next year's Emmys."

The actor will almost certainly feature in the 'In Memoriam' segment of the show, the source is said to have claimed, adding that the five remaining stars would like to share their memories of him during their ceremony in January.

"They all would love to get together on stage to speak about him and also have their own unique moment sharing memories about him and telling the world about the man he was in real life," they said.

"If they can all agree on a worthy tribute and get the blessing of his family, they will absolutely get together to make that night a special moment for Matthew and all who loved him."

Comedy star Perry was nominated for a total of five Emmy awards in his lifetime, including Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series in 2002 for his role in Friends.

The news comes after Aniston, Kudrow, LeBlanc, Schwimmer and Cox shared a joint statement about the loss of Perry in the days after his death.

"We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family," the group wrote.

"There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.

"In time we will say more, as and when we are able.

"For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world."
