Dog act crowned as 'America's Got Talent' winner for first time in a decade

Adrian Stoica and his dog Hurricane blew the judges away with their performances throughout the series

In need of a bit of good dog content to kick-start your weekend? Well, I've got good news for you: a beautiful pooch named Hurricane has just won American's Got Talent.

The ability to be loving, funny and constantly cute as heck means that pretty much every dog on this planet is talented, but Hurricane proved that she's one truly special pup when she appeared on the talent show alongside her owner, Adrian Stoica.

Dog owners regularly try to impress the judges by taking their pooches on AGT to demonstrate dancing skills, musical talent and magic tricks, but it's not often that they make it past the first round - let alone all the way to the final.

After successfully making it past the final five, Stoica and Hurricane found themselves up against magician Anna DeGuzman as both acts fought to take the win.

With Hurricane showing off her obedience in following Stoica's commands and gestures, the pair put on a performance to Queen's 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love'.

The performance saw Hurricane help Stoica around the stage as he sought to woo judge Sofia Vergara, who got up to join in.

It earned Stoica and Hurricane a well-deserved standing ovation from the adoring crowd, with Vergara later telling Stoica he knew 'where to find' her if he needed anyone to be part of the act in the future.

Fellow judge Howie Mandel added that he'd 'never seen anything like' the performance, while Heidi Klum added: “What is not to love? Hurricane is adorable, the smartest dog I’ve ever seen. This whole thing was adorable.”

Simon Cowell told Stoica Hurricane should 'be in a movie or a musical', while Vergara added that the dog was 'ready for Vegas'.

Stoica cradled Hurricane as host Terry Crews prepared to announce the winner, and after learning of their success the owner gave his dog a kiss and admitted he was surprised at the news.

In an interview after the announcement, he said: "When Terry called our name it was like... 'boom.'"

The win makes Stoica and Hurricane the first dog act to win America's Got Talent since since Olate Dogs won on the seventh season of the show.

In spite of his newfound fame and success, Stoica said he and Hurricane would be having a humble celebration by taking a 'long walk' before heading home and going to sleep.

The pair won't have time to rest for long, though, as the win has earned them a headlining spot on the America's Got Talent Presents Superstars Live show at the Luxor Theater in Las Vegas.

The prize also includes a massive $1 million, which Stoica plans to spend on buying sheep. Hopefully he'll throw a nice treat in there for Hurricane, too - she deserves it.
