Netflix’s Hottest Game Show Is Back For A Second Season

One of Netflix's silliest - and most entertaining - gameshows will soon be back for a second season.

As an adult, the thought of being able to escape the mundaneness of day-to-day life and return to our favourite childhood games is golden, so Floor Is Lava gameshow is a stroke of genius.

The series first arrived on the streaming service in June 2020, offering up everything you might expect from such a show.

Netflix explained: "Teams compete to navigate rooms flooded with lava by leaping from chairs, hanging from curtains and swinging from chandeliers. Yes, really."

Needless to say it's peak entertainment, and luckily for us the show is now back for round two:

Netflix has promised 'bigger obstacles, higher stakes and "hotter lava"' for the second instalment of the gameshow, which will see the contestants attempt to avoid falling into the 'lava' (disclaimer: it's red goo) in an attempt to win a cash prize.

This year, contestants hoping to make it through the course will also have to take on a 'giant slippery volcano' which looks set to put some players closer to the lava than ever before.

The trailer makes clear even the most confident of participants will have a rough time on the course, with one person dropping straight into the lava just seconds after declaring the only thing that will touch it is her 'sweat'.

Another seems to immediately regret their decision to take on the course, saying: "This looks harder than the first season."

The second series of the gameshow is set to arrive on 3 June; news which will no doubt be met with excitement from those who have already fallen in love thanks to the first series.

Taking to Twitter to share their thoughts about the show, one person wrote: "Why [have] I just discovered Floor is Lava on Netflix and I’m hooked already."

Another commented: "Floor is Lava on Netflix is I believe the best game show I’ve ever watched in my life."

If your childhood was filled with games of tag, homemade obstacle courses or viewings of Takeshi's Castle, this is sure to be the show for you.

The second series of Floor Is Lava will be available to stream from 3 June.
