Netflix subscribers are still gushing about a ‘perfect’ TV drama with an ‘insane’ ending that some fans are begging to return to the streaming service for a second series.
On February 26, 2020, Netflix dropped all seven episodes of the coming-of-age comedy TV series, I Am Not Okay with This.
Based on the 2017 graphic novel of the same name by Charles Forsman, the series followed Sydney Novak (played by Sophia Lillis), a teenage girl who discovers she has psychokinetic powers.

Over the first series, I Am Not Okay with This sees 17-year-old Sydney grappling with various emotions, including a crush on her best friend Dina and navigating the relationship with her estranged mother Maggie (Kathleen Rose Perkins).
The programme, produced by Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy’s 21 Laps Entertainment company, seems to still be a Netflix fan favorite five years on, with viewers taking to Reddit to have their say.
Posting in the popular Netflix thread, one user wrote: “What is your fave hidden gem on Netflix? Looking for recommendations of what you believe to be the most underrated shows that you have watched on Netflix/Prime apps. My only hard no is anything dubbed, it’s just way too distracting for my tiny little mind.”
In response, a user who goes by the moniker @AspiringPetunia wrote: “How has NO ONE mentioned I Am Not Okay with This (2020)? It's been 5 years and I'm still pissed we never got a second season. That ending was INSANE. Perfect show, 10/10.”

“You’re not the only one who’s angry about that one! It was so good and really deserved another season!”
“I remember watching it and don't really recall the ending, but wasn’t the show cancelled?”
The latter user is, unfortunately, correct.

Despite its solid 86 percent rating on the Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer, I Am Not Okay with This was cancelled by Netflix in August 2020.
The axing came despite it officially being renewed by the streaming giant, with officials citing ‘circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic’.
In a statement shared with Deadline at the time, Netflix said it was a ‘difficult decision’ not to move forward with the show’s sophomore outing.
“We’re disappointed to have to make these decisions due to circumstances created by COVID, and we are grateful to these creators, including: Jonathan Entwistle, Christy Hall, Shawn Levy, Dan Levine, Dan Cohen and Josh Barry at 21 Laps Entertainment for I Am Not Okay with This,” they added.

One user wrote: “When Stranger Things [ends] can Netflix please bring back The Society or I Am Not Okay with This."

A second echoed: “I Am Not Okay with This and Daybreak wtf were Netflix thinking.”
