Viewers desperate to rewatch new Netflix crime series that’s being called a 10/10

Many Netflix users binge-watched the show in one day it was so good

A Netflix action comedy series is having its praises sung by viewers with people saying they already want to 'rewatch' it.

If you've already made it through Netflix's top 10 series of 2023 then fear not because your prayers have been answered. Prepare to add the first series to your 2024 watchlist:

The series was created by Brad Falchuk - best known for co-creating series such as Glee and American Horror Story - and Byron Wu for Netflix and first premiered on the platform on 4 January, yet people have already binge-watched the whole first season.

The Brothers Sun follows Charles (Justin Chien), the son of a notorious Taiwanese triad leader who is slain by a mysterious assassin.

Charles decides to travel to Los Angeles to protect his mother Eileen (Michelle Yeoh) and his younger brother Bruce (Sam Song Li).

From there the family basically have to sort out their differences while attempting to avoid assassination, and those who've seen it are absolutely loving it.

If that wasn't enough to entice you, with a cast including Everything, Everywhere, All at Once star Michelle Yeoh, Justin Chien (The Madness Within) and Take The Night's Sam Song Li, what more could you possible want in an action-filled series?

The series has bagged itself an impressive Rotten Tomatoes audience score of 93 percent and Tomatometer score of 85 percent.

A viewer also took to LADbible's Facebook group called Netflix Bangers to ask people to 'review' the series.

And fans of the show are flooding to the post to sing its praises.

One user wrote: "Strangely enjoyable, watched a few before I could decide if it was good or not then got addicted and watched the whole series in two days."

"Thoroughly enjoyed and may rewatch it soon!!!" another added.

A third commented: "10/10 binged it within a day. I absolutely LOVE the comedy dynamic they went with, action, and storyline. ALL GOOD."

People are loving the series so much they want to rewatch it.

And a fourth resolved: "Absolutely loving it. Enough depth of story to hold interest, a touch of humour, brilliant placing and great action scenes."

In an interview with Deadline, Wu spoke out blending multiple genres together, explaining they wanted to 'pull from a lot of things' they loved.

He said: "We love comedy, action, drama, and mystery assailants [type stories], and we wanted to do all of those things. And the show just felt like it had space for it. From the pilot, I really wanted to do a dark-action comedy. I had seen so many great shows that were pushing the boundaries of genre, especially in the half-hour to an-hour space, like Barry and Killing Eve and BoJack Horseman, Get Shorty.

"These shows were doing something that I thought was so tremendous that they were doing things that were generally reserved for movies. And I felt like I wanted to do that, Brad wanted to do that, so we just did it.

"[...] But it was really just, I hope it works, I hope people respond to it and like it, because to us, we felt like it did, and that’s all we could really base it on."

And if the Facebook and Rotten Tomatoes reviews are anything to go by, viewers more than like it, they love it.

You can watch The Brothers Sun on Netflix now.
