Netflix fans are binge-watching an 'exceptional' new TV series all in one night which boasts an almost-perfect Rotten Tomatoes score.

Don't you love it when you take a chance on a new release (instead of rewatching Friends for the millionth time) and something just clicks?

You're eager to watch the next episode, and the next, and before you know it, you've got through the entire thing in no time at all.

That could be why this new sports comedy - from award-winning showrunner Mindy Kaling - is currently topping the Netflix charts in the US.

It's followed by '10/10' Robert Di Nero series Zero Day and three-part documentary American Murder: Gabby Petito, which examines the heartbreaking murder case that shocked the nation.

Having only released on February 27, this series features a knock-out cast including Glass Onion's Kate Hudson, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody's Brenda Song, and New Girl's Max Greenfield.

Better yet, there's 10 episodes in the series, making it a decent binge-watch.

Called Running Point, it stars Hudson as Isla Gordon, a reformed party girl who has to 'prove herself as a businesswoman' when she's unexpectedly put in charge of her family's pro basketball team.

Of course, fans of Apple TV's Ted Lasso have been drawn to this series - you can see why...

You can watch Running Point's trailer below:

Rotten Tomatoes critics have so far rated the series 82 percent, praising Hudson's 'dynamite charisma,' but it's the audience who've crowned it an almost-perfect 92 percent.

Over on X, formerly Twitter, one fan gushed: "Netflix really got it right with Running Point. 10/10 for me. Funny af", as a second wrote: "Have to give it to Netflix. #RunningPoint is exceptional! Really great writing. I love the growth in the relationship dynamic."

A third weighed in: "Binged #RunningPoint last night and enjoyed it a lot. I love Kate Hudson's comedic timing and the cast is wonderful."

Others were desperate for more seasons, as one wrote: "I really finished Running Point in one night lord I need season 2 now!"

A second echoed: "Just finished Running Point and that was so good like omg give me season 2 NOW."

Will there be a Running Point season two?

Netflix is yet to greenlight a second instalment of the series - and its cast and crew are sure hoping the streamer won't blow the whistle on Running Point.

Hudson previously told Entertainment Tonight: "I had so much fun doing this. I just want to keep doing it."

In the same interview, Kaling directly addressed Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos, boldly prompting: "We love making the show, if you want to just pick us up for five more seasons."

    Only time will tell...

Running Point is available to stream now on Netflix.
