Netflix users only have a matter of days left to watch the sequel to a horror movie which Stephen King himself has branded an 'extraordinary piece of work'.

And considering that's coming from the man who brought us stories like The Shining and IT, it's quite the compliment.

With a solid Rotten Tomatoes score of 91 percent on the Tomatometer and 92 percent on the Popcornmeter, the sequel marked the second instalment of a franchise that has since gone on to spur a prequel starring Lupita Nyong'o and Stranger Things star Joseph Quinn.

But before Nyong'o and Quinn entered the scene - or after, if we're talking canonically - the focus was on real-life husband and wife John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, who first took on the roles of Lee and Evelyn Abbott for the first instalment released in 2018.

The franchise we're talking about is, of course, A Quiet Place.

King showed his love for the first movie in a post on Twitter, writing: "A QUIET PLACE is an extraordinary piece of work. Terrific acting, but the main thing is the SILENCE, and how it makes the camera's eye open wide in a way few movies manage."

The huge success of the 2018 movie - which itself earned an incredible Rotten Tomatoes score of 96 percent - paved the way for the 2020 sequel, which picks up the story of Evelyn and her three kids following the gripping and wildly intense first movie.

Krasinski isn't gone entirely, as The Office star also returned to direct the sequel.

Set in a post-apocalyptic world, A Quiet Place: Part II sees Blunt star alongside Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe and Cillian Murphy as they attempt to survive against the aliens that have descended upon Earth and target every little sound they're capable of detecting.

The movie is currently available to stream on Netflix, but the streaming service has urged users not to 'miss your chance' to watch the flick before it's removed on April 12. That gives you just nine more days to find time to grab the popcorn and settle in to watch the movie!

Krasinski previously spoke to ScreenRant about his decision to return to the world of A Quiet Place after admitting he initially 'had no intention of doing a sequel'.

He said: "The first movie is a love letter to my kids from me, what I thought it meant to be a parent, this one is a hopeful, futuristic dream that I have that my kids will be this courageous, this optimistic, this hopeful in in no matter how dark life gets. That they'd still light a candle and try to soldier on."

A Quiet Place: Part II is available to stream on Netflix now - but don't delay!
