If you're a fan of movies that leave your heart in your throat, you're in luck as a Netflix survival thriller has received the green light for two sequels.

Fall left viewers 'sick to their stomach' when it was released on Netflix in September of last year, with some calling it one of the 'most terrifying' movies ever.

The thriller centres on friends Becky (Grace Caroline Currey) and Hunter (Virginia Gardner) who climb to the top of a 2,000 feet (610m) tall radio tower to scatter the ashes of Becky’s husband Dan, who died in a climbing accident.

However, when the ladder they used to reach the top of the tower breaks, the two women become stranded at the very top.

And, to make matters worse, the bag carrying their supplies falls just out of reach and they can't get their phones to work, leaving them unable to call for help.

Following its release, film fans took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to talk about their horrifying viewing experience.

The film centres around two friends who get stuck on top of a 2,000 foot-tall radio tower.

One person wrote: "Fall on Netflix is one of the most terrifying films I’ve seen in my entire life and I love horror. No blood, no gore, just horrific anxiety throughout watching those two girls try and survive. It’s just awful. A one time only watch as my palms are now sweating!"

Another said: "I've always found it difficult to describe my random fear/anxiety of heights, tall objects and large open spaces from above. Fall on Netflix is basically it, my hands were sweaty and vertigo kicked in just watching it."

Well, prepare to hide behind your hands once again, as it has been confirmed that Fall will become a franchise, with Capstone Studios having green lit two sequels.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the original movie's director and co-writer, Scott Mann, is set to produce both sequels as well as co-write and direct the trilogy's third film.

It has been confirmed that Fall will be getting two sequels.

Capstone CEO Christian Mercuri said: “These two new sequels are wonderful opportunities to expand on the original. We want to now take the franchise even further as we assemble the very best team and ideas to ensure the next hair-raising, death defying and pulse pounding film to global audiences."

Mann added: “I am thrilled to be continuing the Fall journey and taking it to the next level. We’ve got a really special cinematic experience planned and I’m immensely grateful to my fellow producers for backing the vision.

"I’m also excited to be working with new collaborators as well as reuniting with the original gang, and obviously can’t wait to be back filming thousands of feet up.”

The new films will bring back original characters from the first, as well as introducing new ones to the Fall universe. Fall 2 will begin filming in June 2024.
