
A newly-released crime drama that's been dubbed 'Knives Out on steroids' has fans addicted.
The 2019 black-comedy movie is critically acclaimed, having racked up a 97 percent Rotten Tomatoes score across almost 500 critic reviews.
The Rian Johnson film centers on the unusual death of a celebrated crime novelist Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer), as detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) attempts to unravel the mystery behind his death with the help of nurse Marta Cabrera (Ana de Armas).

And those who enjoyed the mystery might also want to indulge in a new, six-part French drama that's been viewed for millions of hours already.
Having joined Netflix earlier this month, viewers headed online to discuss some of the show's bizarre plot points.
The mystery-thriller TV series released internationally on July 9 and has already been binge-watched 28.3 million hours, as per FlixPatrol.

It follows Alba Mazier, a single mom on the run from her troubled past, who takes a job as a picker at a prestigious flower farm in Provence.
When the farm’s patriarch, Arnaud Lasserre, is found dead, she finds the finger of blame pointed directly at her.
But she uncovers an unthinkable link between her and the man, and as she delves into his life's history, she must navigate a web of lies that stretches back for generations.

Taking to IMDB, one fan said: "I was hooked...However, the plot deserved another 3-6 episodes to flesh out the biographies of the main characters," adding: "All in all, though, the binge-watch was worth it."
A second pointed out its similarities to Knives Out, writing: "Felt like Knives Out on steroids," as they noted the show begins with a 'classic' mystery set-up before 'the drama shifts into overdrive'.

They go on to detail how the show gets 'more absurd' as it goes along, culminating in a 'bombshell' final episode. Over on Rotten Tomatoes, the show has so far only racked up a 60 percent score from critics, and there haven't been enough reviews from fans to calculate an average just yet.

Meanwhile, one fan gave their honest opinion: "It can be horrifically stupid at times... but I found it addictive and enjoyable.
"The plot was engaging, although sometimes confusing, but had enough suspense and twists for me to binge it."
