Netflix's new erotic thriller starring Bridgerton's Phoebe Dynevor has blown viewers away.

If you've already binge-watched your way through the final season of Sex Education and were left more emotional than you expected after watching Beckham, then fear not, because there's another hit to add to your list.

Prepare to be hooked:

Set in a hedge fund firm, the thriller sees young couple Emily (Phoebe Dynevor) and Luke (Alden Ehrenreich) navigate their relationship while also being colleagues - both analysts battling for the same promotion.

The movie was written and directed by Chloe Domont - who directed an episode of Suits and Star Trek: Discovery - and premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, on 20 January, 2023.

The official synopsis by Netflix reads: "An unexpected promotion at a cutthroat hedge fund pushes a couple's romance to the brink, threatening to unravel far more than their recent engagement."

And the movie may've only been released onto Netflix last week (6 October), but subscribers have wasted no time jumping to watch it and they have a lot to say.

The thriller stars Bridgerton's Phoebe Dynevor.

The movie - Fair Play - has received an impressive Rotten Tomatoes' tomatometer score of 87 percent, albeit with a slightly contradictory audience score of 55 percent.

However, many viewers of Netflix's new psychothriller have flooded to social media in praise of the movie.

One X - formerly known as Twitter - user said: "The film Fair Play is so f**king realistic. It depicts how ego driven really men are - they can love you but the moment you’re above them, they won’t hesitate to invalidate, gaslight and sabotage you. #FairPlayNetflix."

"Fair Play is the hottest movie on Netflix right now," another commented.

Viewers have sung the thriller's praises online.

A third wrote: "Fair play on Netflix is worth the watch. It only shows that you can do everything right as a woman and still be accused of sleeping your way to the top. And you don’t need to do anything before your man to feel threatened by your success. #FairPlayNetflix."

"That Fair Play movie on netflix is fire. Just finished watching it and my heart is pumping," a fourth added.

And a final resolved: "If you guys haven’t watched fair play on Netflix, it’s a must watch. Talk about a heck of psychothriller movie."

Fair Play was released in select theaters on 29 September and is available to watch on Netflix.
